    Yeah, I don't think he's leaving either.

"OMG Morey is going to quit!"

No he's not. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong but he's not leaving.

I'm not arguing against it. I'm not thrilled with it either. I'm fine with it. I think he's good. I wouldn't fire him. But I think it's ridiculous to annoint him as Yoda. You said he's not perfect...you and I probably wouldn't have much to disagree on, frankly.

I'm not a Morey worshiper but if he did quit, I would have prayed for the most horrible calamity to befall stern's family for 7 generations. I'm not talking about "I don't wish injury upon players/people, but..." type, but some serious shyte.

The league giving fans MORE reasons to watch less and less games. I mean first they're forcing this LerBon thing down our throats and now this crap?

I don't believe he's quitting either, but it clearly shows his frustration level right now.

all this means is that no one in the league wants to deal with new orleans. Start talking to khan and propose the same deal to get k.love.

    You give no reasons.

It makes perfect sense for him to quit. Daryl Morey is feeling everything we are times a thousand. He has the credentials to do whatever he wants for a living. He has been completely mistreated. How are we blowing things out of proportion?

Well, to be fair to Morey, current humans are imperfect creatures. If you expect a perfect GM, I'm afraid you may want to freeze yourself and wake in a future when humans have been perfected by genetic mutations.

I agree. I'm not asking for perfection. I don't expect it. Again, to merely question Morey here is to be labelled a hater who wants him fired.

Sounds like a child not getting their way. Way to quit on your team because Stern blocked the deal. Adios! Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Someone has to make a stand. Not everyone can sit in a corner, silent, bent over. So Morey leaves the Rockets, no biggie. He can probably get a better job outside of the NBA.

He's not the baby. The babies are the ones responsible for pulling the plug on the deal. Open your eyes, close your mouth.

When you try to rebuild with 2 broken superstars hogging your capspace for years, and you finally get them off the books and have a deal to finally get a star player, and it's all taken from you in an instant is acting like a child?

this board has a long history of over-reacting, you know this as well as I do, but it isnt like every single person thinks he is god....the way I read your posts is that if someone were to compliment Morey, they are automatically willing to give fellatio.

I say the following with a reminder that I have much respect for your posting over the years...but on this subject you arent acting like you.

I dont particularly care that you dont think much of the man, but allow folks to say nice things about him without it turning you into a snarky child. As it is now, it seems like you feel that one has to either despise him or adore him...you damn well know it isnt totally black and white.

Im also of the opinion that Morey is frustrated and venting...he wont quit.

Really? Apparently he's been working on this deal for months, with officials constantly checking into the league with details receiving no issues until the very last minute. I would be pissed too, if all that work was for nothing after being green lit the whole time. What does it say about how much liberty these GM's really have, if Stern ultimately has the final say.

Oh, I do agree that's unwarranted. But I'm just saying posters feel you hold Morey to an unreasonable standard. I don't expect Morey to create championship out of the thin air if he doesn't have the resources. Just like I don't expect Obama or any US president to just magically make unemployment disappear. But there is something to be said for doing the best one can given the circumstances.

That makes sense. I mean, the Rockets did nothing to him. He needs to stick with his team, file a suit against the league. Quitting on your team wont do anything. It would be like a player quitting in the middle of a game because he got a bad call by the ref... He quit on his team, the ref could care less.

How about you open your eyes and stop breast feeding like the rest of the DM nipple suckers. Seriously, this guy isn't the Lebron of GMs. He's more like a Kevin Martin. Good, but nothing irreplaceable.

Like everything else that happened in the NBA recently, its a combination of positioning and emotional reaction.

Assuming the report is correct in the first place, ie, Morey has mentioned quiting, to me, its a clear exclamation point to how he feels about what Stern did. Its the strongest message he could send. How much substance there is to it, that is, how seriously is he really considering quitting, im betting only DM knows.

I listened to the Simmons audio interview. One thing I clearly agree with. The fallout from this could be immense. My gut says if Stern doesnt find a way to fix it fast and cool tempers, he is the one resigning (perhaps forced), not Morey.
