It really doesn't make any sense (and I've explained to him why it doesn't and countered his responses with why it still doesn't make sense) for him to keep posting about the nba since he has "screw the nba" in his signature. This is what happens though when a poster allows their emotions to get the best of them.
Based on the past actions of various superstars, neither option. A superstar wants to play in a big market, with players that are either already superstars or that have superstar potential. Pau Gasol = not a superstar, does not have superstar potential Nene = not a superstar, does not have superstar potential So basically doing the trade/not doing the trade would have zero affect on a superstar wanting to come here, but, tanking and trying to draft one does. Which is why the trade made zero sense.
Aww are you annoyed well your annoying me lol. Stop being a Morey fanboy and understand the rockets need a new direction
I guess. You're the only who's accused me being that, but ok. You can't be too aggressive here, it'll get your dots taken away.
I don't agree that the effect would be zero. We'd be a much better team. Pau has proven to be able to be the 2nd guy on a championship team. We'd just be a better situation for someone who wanted to join a strong team.
None of these guys understand that. But you can't blame them they just have different goals as a fan. I want the rockets to compete for a championship and if the rockets make the playoffs but are not a legit threat to win it all im not excited or impressed. Guys like Mr. Clutch are just pumped up by the thought of making the playoffs
What about the fact that getting gasol would take us further away from where we really need to be which is in the lottery drafting a potential superstar.
We have a bad commissioner in the NBA and NFL. I wonder if David Stern and Roger Goodell are best friends.
They have a different goal. Their not interested in championships they just want to be competitive. Building around an allstar player and being what Memphis was when gasol was their first option is just fine with them.
Name a small market team that tanked and as a result received a superstar. And while I agree with you the trade wouldn't make CP3/DWill/Howard more likely to come, it would make it easier to upgrade the roster. There are a lot more wing players available through trades than big men. No one will trade a Nene or a Gasol for anything less than an arm or a leg. But you see above average swingman like Vince Carter, Kevin Martin, Caron Bulter, etc. traded all the time. Even if we didn't upgrade talent, we would've switched our talent from positions of abundance(SG, PF with limited defensive potential), to talent that are rare on the market(Good-to-grat PF/Cs that are 7 footers).
