Ok you want a response? This is a strange situation and their was no perfect way to handle the situation. Stern did as good as he could. Understand that it is never the optimal situation for the NBA to own a franchise but unfortunately that is what happened so stern had to step up and do what was right for the Honerts
There are established rules, e.g. regarding salary matching, etc. - the league reviews whether the teams involved followed these rules. The trade will be denied if these clearly laid out rules are not adhered to. The league does not make a decision like the commissioner in a fantasy basketball league whether they think one team "wins the trade too much" or anything like that.
The proper way to handle the situation would have been for Stern not to act as the GM of the Hornets at the expense of the Rockets and the Lakers, in the process of which violating his fiduciary duty to the two other teams involved. Simple. No, he did not. He screwed the Rockets and the Lakers. He acted as rule maker and market participant at the same time. Clear conflict of interest. No, he should have done what was right for the NBA as a whole, which would have been to stay the hell out of this trade and let the people he appointed to do so make an independent decision on behalf of the Hornets.
So even though the NBA owns the Hornets and he is the commisioner of the NBA he should of screwed the Hornets by taking a bad deal? He had final say, he said he had final say on NBA tv. It was not best for the NBA as a whole to destroy the hornets and lower their value as a franchise by taking a bad deal. The right thing for the NBA was to get the best deal possible for the Hornets and he did that

Nope. Let's get this part absolutely straight. Even if the deal was absolutely disgusting for the Hornets, it is not within his rights to make the right deal. That job goes to Demps, who was given that duty to look out for the hornets' best interest and thus he is granted that rights. This is a legal situation, and what Stern did was ILLEGAL. He interfered with the 3rd party responsible for avoiding conflict of interest. Look, imagine Stern decides to replace the referee of a game between the Lakers and the Rockets with a Laker fan. Yeah, Stern has the power to do that, and he could do that if he wants. He could find a ton of loop holes in the system which somehow allows him to do it. Doesn't mean it won't piss off a lot of people and create potential court cases and conspiracies. To add to that, it's completely possible that somebody paid Stern billions to veto the deal.
