Lowry is no billips, lee is no hamilton, We have no 3 man comparable to Prince, rasheed wallace back then and gasol now is a wash and Nene is no where near as good as Ben Wallace back then. So ya with getting a nene and a gasol were right around the corner from becoming the next detroit lol

Not one bad year try two. How did he do the first try against Boston? Right.

This league is Not about dominant big men. Hasn't been for roughly 10 years. Outside of Shaq who is a once in a lifetime type player, big men don't dictate championships.

It's stupid to think Pau is going to do anything. Want to remind me what he did as the centerpiece when he was younger and better? He was a nice secondary piece to have for a dominant player like Kobe, but is Not a centerpiece worth 19 million going forward.

You act as if these moves guaranteed other moves. How did that work out with Lebron? Bosh? Face it, more than likely we would be stuck a depreciated Pau, and an injury prone Nene. Which we had no guarantee he would of even come on board. Why would he? To play with CBud, Lee, Lowry? Really.

Really? Come on. I'm no fan of LeBron, but it's way more complicated than that. I also would hesitate to believe any secondhand quote such as this. It's not like we're hearing from Morey that he's thinking about quitting. Coming from someone else, that could be exaggerated. It could mean anything. It could mean Morey uttered a frustrated offhand comment like "if this is the way it's going to work, I'm in the wrong business." We should look at this whole mess intelligently instead of flying off the handle. That said, maybe Stern should be the one to go.Things really aren't working right in the NBA right now. This fiasco should leave a bad taste in every fan's mouth, no matter who your team is.

Only problem is 34 mil plus another 16 leaves us with 8 million for the rest of the team? How much over the lux tax do you think les would be willing to pay?

People are sheep they see all of the hype Morey gets as being some kind of Moneyball Guru, so they have blind faith in him and think he can do no wrong.

Here's the bottom line Morey has us in the worst situation possible stuck in the middle not good enough to compete for rings and not bad enough to be in contention for top 5 picks.

Even if we get Gasol and Nene were still in the same situation.

That's exactly how the Miami/Laker/Celtic payroles are. You have to fill the spots with young players and cheap veterans, who aren't too tough to find.

Lowry is shorter than Billups, so he's never going to be as great of a defender, but at this stage in their careers, Lowry is very similar.

Hamilton was better than Lee but Lee hasn't really been given a shot because he hasn't been a starter.

Gasol is better than R. Wallace was, easily.

And you're right Nene is nothing like Ben Wallace, he can score double digit points.

    1. He ran into Kevin Garnett. How did Dirk do his first year against Miami? Right. How did Pau do when he ran into Boston the second time? Right.
    2. Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O'Neal, Dirk Nowitzki, Rasheed/Ben, Kevin Garnett, Pau Gasol
These guys were all dominant when they won their rings... Champions need a dominant big, or two. I'm looking at you Miami...
    3. He did freaking fantastic in Memphis. He led a truly awful team to the playoffs every single year, almost Kevin Garnett-esque.
    4. Nene has not had an injury in 3 years, and Pau Gasol is far from depriciated. (It seems to be pretty obvious that we went after Pau because of a guarantee from Nene) To play with Pau? Really really...

Watch basketball much? Didn't think so. Lets look at the front lines of some of the winners of the last few seasons. Start with the Lakers - Pau Bynum Odom. Dallas - Dirk and Chandler. Boston - Perkins and Garnet. See the thread between them? Huge rim protecting front lines. No easy shots in the paint. With paint and rim protection you can build something of value. Lacking that you are a first round road kill or lottery team.

The game has changed, and is called much differently now, it is more wing and perimeter oriented.

In my opinion if he still cannot get us a decent center after tying for 3 years now, he should be fired asap.

Lets look at some stats Ben wallace 03-04 9.5 ppg 12.4 rbds and 3 blocks
looks like ben wasn't that far off from double digints now lets look at nene
    14.5ppg 7.6rb 1.0 block

Ill take the 5 extra rbs and extra 2 blocks per and amazing defensive presence you could have the 5 points

btw ben wallace in playoffs 10.3ppg 14.3rbs 2.4 blocks lol ya nene is way better

Yes but u still need a big man to win a ring.

Ask Kobe couldn't win a ring without Shaq or Pau
