I said this yesterday. The league blocking this trade really hurt the Rockets, even if the league goes back and says the can do it again. I doubt they will do it.

It really sucks. As a Rocket fan I feel screwed that my teams plans whatever they were, were screwed as well. I almost feel like the NBA should give us, Hornets, and Lakers some kind of compensation because it is wrong what they did.

SURE all the teams own the Hornets but guess what? They all have the interest of THEIR teams and not the Hornets.

I cant blame the guy. I mean, hes worked so hard and done everything right for years then in the end, he got screwed just as he was finally about to make, possibly, the best move of his career and save our franchise from mediocrity.

Moot point. The Rockets were a 6th seed that year.

Most of the Rockets fans here have a losers attitude, you guys are hoping and praying to be mediocre. Great lets trade for gasol and become Memphis pre gasol trade. A team who made the playoffs and got owned consistently. We need to do what memphis did rebuild and aqquire young players. Memphis robbed us and traded battier for gay and the gasol trade looked bad at first but now its looking great with the development of marc gasol. ONLY HOPE FOR THE ROCKETS IS GETTING YOUNG TALENT NOT 31 YEAR OLD SOFT BIGS WHO ARE OBVIOUSLY ON THE DOWNSIDE.

LOL mute point ? My point is not to be caught up in semantics. My point is that the Rockets need a true superstar and gasol is not a true superstar the only way the rockets will get one is in the draft.
What i meant by the seeding comment is that the rockets can be a good team with the gasol trade but it would put them even further away from championship contention. Understand that the only hope for the rockets is too build through the draft

What a mess. What a mess!

This is probably the darkest days for the NBA since drugs were rampant back in the 80's.

You have it such that small markets teams can't compete and a player suring the league, and two front office guys threatening to quite.

What a big big big mess.

Actually, Morey can give Stern a way out
he can offer the Hornets what they want straight up in lots of youth, take big contracts, and give multiple picks.

Call David and be like, "Soooo, getting a lot of heat commish? I can offer you a solution. We'll take CP3 without any guarantees and give you Lowry, Lee, Patterson, Williams, Thabeet and picks.

Rockets had a solid, smart plan to make Pau and Nene the front line of at least the next three years. Now, they may get neither.

Oh please let it be true. Let Morey's reign of terror on the Rockets come to an end.

Everyone bashing Morey for allegedly saying this veto sets the franchise back 3 years, this is probably what he meant.

    Pau/Hayes
    Nene/Patterson
    Budinger/Morris
    Lee/Williams
    Lowry/Flynn

Is a lineup that is a year and one away. That is far more than you can say about this current team. I feel significantly different about the NBA after hearing of this latest farce. They should have never been allowed to purchase the Hornets. And of course, the basketball gods **** us. Being a Rockets fan lately is rough.

Just deal Martin and Scola in separate deals for youth or picks and TANK! I wasn't an advocate before, but who would want to try the trade route again now?

OK, so the job is now yours. How are you going to get that super star draft pick? What's your plan?

I love how guys like Gilbert thought he was helping small market-2nd market teams when he in fact hurt two teams in the process.

The Lakers were actually rebuilding any ways with that move and planning for a post-Kobe future.

What difference does it make? If these trades put us as the 5th or 6th seed, we have a shot at winning it all. Who was on the roster has nothing to do with it.

You're making the mistake of looking back and having the luxury of knowing that two of our players that year are hall of famers. You don't have that same luxury about the players that could have been on our roster.

This a little "off topic" but some of our CF posters were kissing mucho Maverick butt when the Mavs beat the Heat in the finals. Some of us where acting like we should cheer for the Mavs as if we were winning something last year! How ya like those "classy" Mavs now! Cuban & Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert have screwed our whole off season with their whining & b****in!
