Coaches dont like that..we have enough internal issues as it is....a GM is not in a true position of leadership, hes not out there with them.
I think Morey trusted McHale too much this summer, i've always thought this extension was more on McHale, not sure Morey was that high on giving this contract to Brew...just my two cents on this.
This is true sometimes EMPLOYEES don't like to do what their BOSS tells them to do, yet, they have to do it anyway. DD
if Morey knew Brewer was terrible, he wouldn't have given him that contract. now we're stuck with him because his trade value is nil
He is an interim coach not the coach. His feeling shouldn't matter. Yes, the contract DM gave Brew is a lot to be desired; but, good night, do the right thing by stepping in --> he is not the interim GM. MAYBE Brew and Terry are the only ones that PLEASE BOTH Howard & Harden. He my play Brew to keep the peace.
Screw pleasing the players - play to win, if you don't try sit....you can have a fake injury to keep them happy. This team is better with Harden and without Howard at least then they have an identity. DD
Morey didn't understand what the team had happened on. He thought it was the same team with last year. can we expect Morey to solve the team's problem?
One more reason why pro sports don't work like other jobs...you want our potential next coach hearing about how Morey butted in?
Harden is not leading us anywhere either. Last time Kobe had a bad team, he led them to a 3-1 series lead against Suns with Amare and Nash and that was the best he could do. Suns were No 2 in the West behind Spurs at that time. Harden is mini Kobe and more efficient flopper but that is it. Kobe actually tried to be a Leader and had some success Post Shaq.
And you don't think Morey has butted in before? Sure he has! Howard/Harden era is over. I look forward to the dismantling of this team who is now peaking way down, and it showed this year. Howard got to the western conf. finals with this crew, and now back down. He should be on the way out, as well as some of these non-existent role players. You take Harden, and find a 2nd goto scorer, some rookies, Nba ready players, not just role players, and maybe 1 vet or 2 , and rebuild this team.
The most aggravating thing is when Ariza or Terry or whoever passes a clear easy 2 pts at the rim when it is 2 on 1 and go off to the corner for a 3. Just embarrassing.
If only Morey would make JBB, the coach he promoted, bench Brewer, the player he signed, the Rockets would be well on their way to the biggest upset in sports history. How hard is this to figure out?
Or actually get players that can shoot the 3 after turning the rockets into the most 3 dependent team in the league.
