Pretty much. Given that we may not have much to play for next year, that's why I like the idea of this type of trade. It essentially takes the pressure off Oden. Everybody knew Oden was essentially the missing link in Portland and he had to hear about it everyday. Remember those reports of him saying he just tries to avoid/ignore the media? He could come to Houston, avoid all the media pressure and just concentrate on playing basketball. Sure, there's some risk with his lingering health issues, but this is the type of move rebuilding-on-the-fly teams make. If the "risk" is just Battier plus another small piece or two, I think Oden more than satisfies the "reward" aspect of any trade rationale.
