Don't know what the heck Morey was thinking letting him go with a hurt dmo and tjones struggling? Doubt clippers will trade with us.
Josh Smith is in this video at the midway point. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/LAClippers">@LAClippers</a> Be Likeā¦ w/ <a href="https://twitter.com/famouslos32">@FamousLos32</a> <a href="https://t.co/QKmiHTWpiB">https://t.co/QKmiHTWpiB</a></p>— B.A. (@BdotAdot5) <a href="https://twitter.com/BdotAdot5/status/673962062855278593">December 7, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
If DMo was healthy during the playoffs, Josh wouldn't have had the PT to make the impact that he ended up making. TJ will be traded by the ASB and DMo should be rounding into form nicely. Josh is even less relevant as Bickerstaff likes to play Capela at the 4 now as well.
Smoove would still be tremendously relevant on this team. We're playing Capela because we don't have anybody else. But Capela isn't ready to carry the defensive load. He's simply not ready. Capela needs a Dwight/Smoove defender to play alongside of for him to not be totally exposed and be a positive contributor on the defensive end. When Capela has to play the middle alongside Jones/Harrell or in any small-ball lineup he cannot hold down the middle. He gets exposed.
Josh Smith didn't even get on the floor vs. OKC last light. His minutes went to Cole Aldrich. Maybe that was punishment for the 7 FGAs in 6 mins against the Rockets. He's done in Clipperland, especially if Aldrich somehow continues to play well.
There seems to be a lot people blaming Morey for Smith leaving...didn't the Rockets offer more money for Smith to stay? I thought he left because he was suppose to get a bigger role in LA.
Clint is already much better than Josh Smith on defense. Switches, pick and rolls, staying with shooters, changing shots around the rim, etc. It really isn't even relatively close. Josh Smith didn't play much against Golden State because he is undiscplined on the defensive end. He was incapable nor did he have the mental capacity to stick with a shooter, nor rotate properly. Clint Capela >...
Smith left because he didn't know what his role would be on the Rockets. He thought he knew his role on the Clippers but I said from the beginning there was no way he and Doc would mesh. There was a perfect storm of circumstances that happened last year for him that likely won't be repeated.
