Sounds like you just get annoyed too easily. There's nothing wrong with a GM saying he's confident in the team and his abilities, despite how much Clutchfans LOVES to whine about Morey's quotes. He's not guaranteeing victory or anything. You'd criticize him if he said "we believe we have no chance to beat Golden State" too.

Also...Morey has "failed on moves since then" after the Chris Paul trade? Well...if you ignore the actual magnitude of the Chris Paul trade, as well as ignore PJ Tucker and Nene...then sure!

And as for comparing the Thunder and Wolves to us...well...LOL...

Some of y'all just love to be miserable

it's almost as if mctalky talky has adversely rubbed off on morey now. harden did all the heavy lifting for cp3, who did the heavy lifting for tucker -- while morey comes out with the gloat-quotes and rounds the talkshow circuit for a few victory laps. does any other gm talk up his moves and team's record like this? if i hear anything about our record the past 10yrs i'm gonna roll my eyes into my cerebellum

The funny part is all the folks on here convinced GSW couldn't afford to resign Livingston, Iggy....

They did both and added Casspi and Nick Young.

They have no traditional bigs still... which might make Minnesota the closest thing to a competitor if they were more seasoned.

Rockets have closed the gap, but the gap was the size of the Pacific Ocean.

he's joking when he says that right? I feel like he says that joking but it worries me. My biggest criticism of MDA so far: Why do you think you're going to win playing uptempo with fewer players? Play more players fewer minutes, keep guys fresh and it'll wear down the other teams....

Great teams with rich owners always find a way to make the money work.

They've increased their value by billions since this last group bought them. Location helps. Winning and being so dominant helps the most. Even at a $0 cash profit or slight annual loss the increase in enterprise value has been crazy and makes it work.

The gap is smaller, but certainly not "closed". I think Morey misspoke, there is no way he actually believes we are as good as GS.

With PG or Millsap I believe the gap would've been closed, but that's water under the bridge.

Even with Melo, that still wouldn't be enough on its own. We'd need Melo to completely change his game, spot up more in the corners, shoot more 3s, play exclusively PF, try harder and play D... become Olympic Melo basically, only then we get close to closing the gap.

Without Melo, I'll still take this team up against any other team, CLE included, Ryan Anderson and all. But no way against GS.

I think that's why Melo wants to come to Rockets or Cavs. With Harden and CP3, he can afford to be Olympics Melo whereas on his own team, he HAS to shoulder the load.

Gotta play the games to see if we have or not. That's all I will say right now.... I like what we have added so far and I think we are a lot better than last year's team. The roster is not done yet so lets just see what else happens by the time camp starts. I think some other decent role playing vets will end up here once the money dries up in FA.

We were just supposed to fold man, just go in our corner and cry.

Personally, the team we have with is fine. 2nd or 3rd best in the west, probably could be 3rd best team in the NBA.

Beating the Warriors? Unlikely, but stranger things have happened. If Capela improves again then the gap closes too. If Ryno just simply shoots better at home, then that closes the gap.

At the very least, if the Warriors run into bad luck with injuries (As Durant gets hurt every year about) then at least we are there to fill in.
