Great point, I really think we should overpay for some washed up player and be locked into an average team team for extended periods of time.
Lets get a GM that sits on his ****ing hands. Look, I ain't the kind of dude that thinks Morey does NO WRONG, but I be damned if I say I don't like him TRYING.
NO! What's wrong with you? We can't be making trades! Otherwise our players will feel like assets! If we just sit tight with the current roster, they'll feel like Morey cares about them and start playing like All-Stars!
I can't seem to find one anywhere. Their site has audio of the whole show online and it says it's in Hour #3, but I couldn't find it.
Don't have it split up in the "featured interviews" yet, but it's on the regular show under "Lance, Matt and Adam talk draft with Josh Norris from RotoWorld and visit with Rockets GM Daryl Morey." The whole thing is only about 9.5mb. http://www.bigshow790.com/cc-common...elected_podcast=022112_3_1329838489_11901.mp3 direct mp3 download link: http://downloads.iheartradio.com/media/station_content/14867/022112_3_1329838489_11901.mp3
Hold off on that link. Just downloaded it and can't seem to fing the Morey segment. Those incompetents there may have mis-labeled it. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
If he is keeping the deadwood, then he better be DOING ALL POSSIBLE to move that wood at the deadline and not just let it burn up on the bench. It takes two. And sometimes three. And then there is the owner of NOLA and there is the League's commish and ... oh, never mind...
Morey traded the only young, star-level player at the outset of his general managership. That player was Rudy Gay -- exchanged for Shane Battier for crying out loud.
and CD was still the gm then. but im sure the response'will be that Morey was actually pulling the strings as a assistant gm.
Yes, because the best thing for a two-superstars team with about 4-5 year window to compete is to draft a raw rookie. Then proceed to give him 20 bad shots a night playing zero defense and zero team game. All so that 4-5 years down the road, when your superstars are past their prime or retired, said player can be a 18-6 player on a mediocre team. That's what smart GMs do. Also, smart GMs would classify Rudy Gay as star-level talent but Kyle Lowry as lesser talent.
What's the Grizzlies record again? You would think that Conley/Gay/Gasol would be a top 3 seed with the way that people talk about them on here.
And thanks for not setting me on fire! I actually agree that he does a good job, but some would misinterpret my statement another way. Imagine, if Yao and Tmac panned out, Morey would have brought this team championships ...
