Actually I was trying to point out that Portland overlooking Francis really doesn't mean anything, which most people in this thread are trying to advocate. And probably the main reason why Portland has had such a good run should honestly go to Brandon Roy who is putting up monster numbers. I should know, I track them game by game for my fantasy team. I actually dont see how Francis even fits into this system. Brooks does but Francis? What makes people think he'll take off and put up decent numbers like 14/4/4 when he couldnt even beat out Nate Robinson for time.
That's right, they never looked at him. That in and of itself doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Now they have some talented players...sure, after sucking for the past x years....but they aren't going anywhere this year. But I'm sure their fans are now talking about being a contender....even though they are definitely not.
it makes a whole lot of sense. Portland are like us they carry alot of point guards, combo guards. Jarret Jack, Steve Blake, Sergio Roderiquiz and heck Brandon Roy (we all know about how he can play a bit of point *cough*). In particular Roderiguiz. His a young pg that they can develop. Keeping Francis would have stunted development of his growth, not to mention the growth of Brandon Roy as the leader of that team. I quite like this Blazers team, none more then the fact that Roy is owning it and all their young role players are stepping up immensely. If our Rockets cast stepped up like the Blazers (Martell Webster, Travis Outlaw, La Marcus, and James Jones) we would be looking at 20 win rate right now
