% of Scola shots that got blocked: 8%.

% of Dwight Howard shots that got blocked: 7%.

Obviously he is not going to pick up a 5'0" point guard, at least I hope not. He said on his weekly show on sports 610 during the season, that the Rockets are one of the few oragizations that DOES NOT look at a players height as much as other organizations.

Besides height, none of these guys fit your description.

They don't attack the basket much-- low FT attempts per minute. They are not guards, but are rather forwards with little guard type skills (i.e. dribble the ball). Only 2 of them are known for playing decent D-- Pietrus and, for the past year, Jones.

    Fail. Try again.

Uh, would you rather have them than 6'3" Luther Head paying the same position, not attacking the basket, can't dribble. The name of the game is Height!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Succeeded. I'm through.

Scola is not 6'10. He's closer to 6'8-6'9 plus he's short armed and not atheletic. I'm not saying height is everything, I just thing the team was due injustice because after the bonzi and snyder trade along with the release of green, they knew they had no one that could defend their position behind tracy and shane. Not only that when u look at the 4 spot, u have no length and minimal atheleticism. I was screaming for PJ Brown for Yao relief as well as a guy that can defend and rebound with size. Also Reuben Patterson was a better option than Bobby Jones or Mike Harris. Now u may laugh it off, but even without yao, if they had enough to beat utah and push LA with Patterson and Brown. All it took was a call and a little common sense.

Why did you name a whole bunch of forwards, when you said you wanted a guard?

    All-star sg Kobe ain't even 6'8"-6-9".

How about naming some guards with that height that attack the basket.

You didn't bring up Head. And Head wasn't a Morey pick, either. CD and Dennis Lindsey drafted Head. Morey was working for Celtics at that time.

Height is part of the equation, but not deteriminative by itself. Otherwise, Kirk Snyder (who, by the way, was acquired during Morey's tenure with the Rockets) would have staked out his place in the rotation already.

You're right that height is not determinative by itself, but Kirk Snyder was acquired when CD was the GM.DM has been the GM for 1 year,Snyder played under JVG.

I think DM at least was the assistant GM at the time. Not sure what kind of role he hand in that deal. In any case, the cost of Snyder was minimal. Too bad, too, for Kirk... just hasn't been able to figure out the pro game. Was helluva college player. Makes too many mistakes on the court and not skilled enough to overcome the mental lapses.

When they acquired Snyder CD mentioned they had tried to get him earlier on. Maybe when Utah was shopping him?

Morey was with the ball club then. I can't figure out who gets to decide what Morey gets credit for, and what he doesn't. Snyder played under JVG until he lost his spot in the rotation to Luther Head (it wasn't just the injury).

Hermann is an oft injured forward.

Pietrus would be nice, but you'll probably have to overpay to get him.

James Jones is already a journeyman, though a nice backup player. He's not the player you're looking for -- 63% of his FGAs were from the 3 point line this past year. The year before, it was 54%. For comparison, Luther Head shot 47% of his FGAs from 3 point land last year and 57% the year before. At best, he's as much of a spot up shooter as Head is.

Gerald Green has had 3 teams give up on him. He doesn't even help your point -- Morey was in Boston when the Celtics drafted him and with the Rockets when we traded for him.

lee -- If you really think Ruben Patterson would have been the difference in beating Utah and would have given us a chance against LA, it's not worth furthering this discussion. There's a reason that after a career year in Milwaukee, he couldn't find a job in the NBA -- the guy is a cancer.

Daryl Morey was with the Celtics during the 2005 draft, Luther Head's draft year. The Celtics drafted 6'8" F Ryan Gomes and 6'7" high school SF Gerald Green.

    Really?

    Based on qhat measurements?

Because when we got him I looked up his stats on a few international sites. They listed him between 209 and 211cm.

    6'10 is 208cm

He looks a bit taller than Shane/ TMac/ Landry

You are correct in this statement. He is at minimum 6' 9".
