Mchale is gonna get this year and the beginning of next (unless the wheels completely fall off this year) to put out a championship squad. Morey will get him the pieces to be successful, I don't doubt that, but IMO mchale is just not a good coach. Have a feeling svg or George Karl is gonna take over.
The problem doesn't just go back to last nite. First, it was Morey's insistence on pushing coach Adelman out the door by suggesting he groom is replacement Finch, and also attempting to have more control over who Adelman did or didnt play. Adelman walks, Morey hires Mchale, who allows Morey to pick his assistants and decide how the offense is ran. His money-ball styled offense puts up alot of points and produces wins in the regular season, but stumbles terribley when: A. The team has dead legs from running EVERY PLAY even when no fastbreak is there B. Teams slow the game down and force us to play half court offense C. 3's not falling but we continue to shoot them because that's what Morey wants D. No real plays ran because Morey's handpicked coaching staff apparently doesn't believe in running them that much. E. Our money ball taylored roster is not balance very well, and actually balanced teams like OKC expose this.
No offense but you are one of the worst kind of posters on this board. Trying to blame Morey for all of that is utterly ****ing r****ded. We have the best GM in the business who has produced superstars in consecutive off seasons. He readily admits the team is not a championship contender and has identified what it is going to take to get there. He has outlined how he intends to get there. The things you are complaining about just stupid. Completely unrealistic expectations that no GM can ever live up too.
His approach to building a team has everything to do with why he got harden and Dwight. This team plays fast for a reason and struggles in half court for a reason
Fixed If pushing a HOF coach out the door for more control is stupid to you, then you aren't worth arguing with. Mchale is not the coach for this job. Jeremy Lin is not worth his contract, Asik should not be a Rocket, our bench is weak, and Morey's idea of chuckin up contested 3's is a strategy that will produce zero rings. He's a good GM, but he's made plenty mistakes. Hold him accountable like everybody else, zero passes given
Everybody is to blame for this team inconsistency, lack of intensities, pi** poor defense, and no freaking heart.
Y'all have to remember that 70% of this offense, is based on what Morey wants. Keep taking 3's when we're ice cold in the 2nd half ... because they're more efficient than 2 pointers ... how the fudge is 0% beyond the arc efficient ??
Another thing that really hasn't been mentioned is the fact is our bench has literally everybody playing out of position. Garcia's a SG playin PF. Casspi's a SF playin PF, Brooks a SG running PG. Everybody on the bench is coming in playing outta position. While we applaud Morey for bringing in Dwight, his job performance goes down a few notches for him not gettin the right guys for each position. For a Nba team not to have a back up PF is unheard of
You will get piled on for the fact that our offensive scheme is so heavily reliant on the 3 ball and flawed, but good post.
Moreys reluctance to bring in a backup center is really hurting this team. Our backup centers have been out all year with no real timetable for a return date. McHale can do much without any bigs coming off of the bench. Listen to McHale"s post game speech after the second lost to the Memphis.
