Morey needs to take some blame for these losses.

Morey has done great for this team. I love Morey but I can't believe how he went from all time HOF coach to possibly the worst coach in Rockets history and definitely one of the 5 worst coaches in today's NBA

So you explicitly acknowledge the injury problems at guard and center before saying the GM is to blame for the lack of guard and center depth?

    OOOOOOOOOOkay...

Yeah, we're shorthanded with injuries and Morey could address the issue with a trade. But, you don't evaluate general managers on wins and losses in games -- you evaluate GMs on seasons. We likely perform better for the season with Morey standing pat for now than we would if he were to do suboptimal deals to put a band-aid on. What you're asking for is a long-term solution to a short-term problem.

So lets pretend you are Morey.

You just signed Howard with all your cap space.

Please tell me who you would have added with vet minimum money to fill out the team that would make the team better than it is now. Under the given constraints, Morey hit a home run.

The strategy of shooting 3's & avoiding midrange shots is Morey's strategy. We currently HAVE NO BENCH, this falls on Morey too. As bad as Mchale's been, it's MOREY who hired him (and chased Adelman off:rolleyes:).

Stop making excuses and hold him accountable like other GM's.

Probably the smartest post I've ever seen in GARM.

We have no bench because of injuries, not because of Morey! And again, what would you have done differently to change the bench? People who are blaming Morey must have some better plan right?

I love Lin but Morey should have never let Dragic go. Something wrong with that moneyball if you can pay Lin 8M a year and not Dragic.

This. I would love to hear on July 7th what folks here really expected out of these guys-

    2nd tier players-
-Lin - about what expected, maybe slightly less for the delusional
-Parsons - expected if not slightly better
-Asik - Did anyone even expect him to be on the team??

    Youngs-
-Jones -blew expectations out of the water
-D-Mo -knowledgeable fans should know it would be up & down
    -Canaan - right on par
    -Covington- right on par

    Vet min guys-
    -Casspi - exceeded
-Garcia - slight disappointment but knowledgeable fans should have expected this
    -Brewer -on par
    -Brooks - exceeded

So of all the roster spots outside of Harden/Howard we've only REALLY had one major disappointment and that was the Asik situation NOT turning into anything of value yet. Other than that everything should be right as expected if not slightly exceeding.

Morey has done well with this roster outside of Harden/Howard, but the problem is everyone is waiting for the 3rd acquisition. So the only disappointment anyone should have is that it hasn't come sooner than expected.

GMs around the league said Morey was "crazy" for what he's demanding for Asik and they do have a point, so yes some of it is on him.

So you'd want Morey to just kneel down to other GMs and accept getting ****ed over?

    He isn't like you.

What does every GM in the league do? Look at the Spurs or Golden State. They find help somewhere in the d-league or free agents. Drew Gooden, Stephen Jackson or even the center that 76er's just picked up to name a few. We carry a lot of dead weight on the roster, and their is no excuse for Morey not to make some kind of move to help balance the roster. Every move doesn't have to be a home run in order to help the team now. We even heard that 2 weeks ago was the first time that they had enough players to have a full scrimmage. Morey is a good GM and has done a good job, however, Morey had made a few bad deals also. The starters are tired and have played several back to backs to date. Again, they just simply ran out of gas. Mchale does not trust his bench and plays the starters too much.

I said the same thing in a previous post BUT people still do not find fault with DM.....It's simple, all we need is bench help!!! We don't need Kevin Love nor Aldridge. Morey just needs to build a solid bench. I was looking at a guy we had in the D-League, James Johnson, his box scores were 15/5/6 (blocks).

When was the last time we've seen a bench player on the Rockets with a line like that????

Again, when Bev and Asik are back, what else do you want Morey to do?

I love all these posts WE NEED TO GET A BETTER BENCH!! But nobody has laid out a plan to actually do it. What do you guys see that Morey doesn't? I'm dying to know

No I don't. It's about being realistic in the context of the situation. No need for personal attacks btw.
