I think it works. I know Nelly said earlier this season he expected a big move to go down.

Whatever happens, it will be for now and the future. If nothing happens at the deadline, then something major will happen over the summer

There is no need to trade tmac. Just let the contract expire and then there will be a lot a good free agents to go after.

The Knicks want Mac, even if they don't get him now I'm sure they will get him when he becomes a free agent anyway.

BMoney, Jefferson and butler are nothing alike other than being 6'7 and black. Jefferson is more of a slasher and butler is more scorer. Caron's athleticism is closer to battier whereas jefferson's was closer to kobe. Huge difference.

As i said before, its not about not getting butler, but getting butler would've fit the mold. He can still play and keeps u flexible. Wasnt that the goal? Now i never said they could"ve gotten butler, but they didnt because the wizards wanted houston to take stevenson and wanted lowry. I think the idea of the rox not being in win now mode is kinda foolish. They started the mode of win now and either needs to continue that route start over. You cant stay in the middle lane.

Anyone can chime in, but what are the most optimistic expectations of yao over the next 3 yrs? Once you answer that, then match that up and those projections with the top teams in the west. Once u make that comparison then u will understand why i think the rockets are in no mans land. Whatever happens, i am still a rox fans.

We have less than 10m to resign Scola and sign a free agent if let tmac contract expires...
Even if we dont sign Scola, I dont think low-risk Morey can sign any star.
Even Gortat choose Dallas rather than Houston in this summer.
There are many team will have large salary cap next summer.
The good player will have many choice to get contract higher than his true value.
This operation is not low-risk Morey style and we do not have super star to attract player to join us agian.
How can some fans still think we can sign some good player with tmac contract expire? :(

Well put. I'm very surprised at all the backlash at how Morey didn't manage to make a deal for Butler. From what I had seen many were reluctant to even accept the fact that we were going after Caron.

Now that the deal wasn't done everyone is "LMAO" at how the organization hasn't made a deal yet to get talent with Tracy's contract alone. Haven't we been told numerous times that a deal was not imminent and if Morey did not see a trade fit for our needs that we were just going to hold on to the contract and let it expire?

That's how I took the deadline and the trade proposals that were being thrown around. I would have loved to have Caron but this is not something to throw a tantrum over not getting.

We've been very patient, most of us, in this long process and I don't think he's let down any of the season ticket holders.

But I know now that Morey will not be willing to send out our young talent for something that is being over priced, in his opinion. I love that about him. You can say he did a dis-service to us but if anything I trust Morey's decision and will be looking forward to the offseason more now than ever.

Off topic - has anyone thought that maybe Amar'e wouldn't be thrilled about coming to Houston because Morey knows not to overvalue or undervalue his players. Therefore Morey WON'T be willing to pay a max deal for his services, that's what I would think the only reason he'd be reluctant to join our team. Right?
