Actually, there is virtually NO possibility we cut both of them. At least not in the next few months. Morey specifically said we're gonna keep 14 players on the roster.

And who said they all needed playing time? They can be projects and got more potential than Luther Head ever had.

What I'm saying is if we don't want to pay Lux Tax for these two players, thats fine. But its better if we just trade Luther away from some picks and salary cap relief and keep both of them. I'd say Von and DJ are both better than Luther. Normally players with one real skill will find a home in the NBA. See Reggie Evans(Rebounding), Jason Kapono(Shooting). Whats Luther particularly good at? Cutting? Shooting? Ball-Handling??(lol). At least Von can shoots lights out as we've seen.

Ok, DJ you might be able to sell me on as a "prospect" because he's only been in the league for 1 year. But Von Wafer is essentially garbage. You can't call him a prospect because he's been in the league for 3-4 years and his CAREER HIGH IN FG% IS 30%. How is it you can be in the league for 3-4 years, and never average more than 30% shooting, and be considered good? Its just not possible. You guys hate on Rafer all the time, and then Von Wafer has a few good games and everyone is on his nuts. I just don't understand it.

Whats Luther Head particularly good at? How bout what is Von Wafer particularly good at? Not shooting, he's had 3 good games and you are going to put the "good shooter" label on him. Luther Head can shoot, he's only decent at everything else. Yes, thats all. But its more than you can say about Von Wafer and DJ Strawberry right now.

You don't get rid of Luther Head, who can still contribute (and has contributed) outside of the preseason when someone gets injured, for guys that are clearly worse than him at this point. And if you still disagree that they are worse, I don't know what to tell you. You just can't make rash judgments based on preseason box scores.

What makes you think Wafer and DJ have more potential then Luther? Wafer couldnt last with any of the teams he has been on? You say he has proven he can shoot lights out? That was a preseason game. Luther Head has scored over 30 points in a regular season game, and has hit huge clutch shots in regular season games. So dont think Wafer's 7 threes in a preseason game mean anything.

Also, you go over the luxury tax to keep key members on your team intact. We all know if Wafer or DJ play heavy minutes for us this year, that is not a good sign. Do you honestly think that either of them means anything to the overall picture with this team.

As for wanting them because of their potential down the road, do you really think any team is waiting for Wafer or DJ to be cut so they can quickly sign them up long term. My guess is even if we cut both of them this year, the Rox would still be able to sign them next year if they wanted.

The last game of the preseason told us a lot:

Adelman went to more of his regular season rotation (minus the fact that Alston and Battier weren't there), and no Von Wafer or DJ Strawberry, but we got about 20 minutes of Luther Head. He comes in cold and battling a foot injury and gives us a 5 for 8 shooting night off the bench. Thats no 7 three pointers, but on the other hand Head wasn't basically given open shots from Aaron Brooks like Wafer was. He had to work for every shot.

I'll say it one last time: Luther is staying, Wafer and/or DJ are gone.
