It would take this year and next years pick just to start.....

2 first round picks, Aaron Brooks+Carl Landry probably we take another asset...

    Next year (assuming Dwades extension)

    Yao/Hayes/Andersen
    Scola/Hayes/Andersen
Battier (Battier would have to start because neither Lowry or even Wade are great 3 pt shoters./Ariza
    Wade/Budinger
    Lowry/Whomever.

Just so you know the Ted Stepien Rule prevents this. Basically you cannot trade two consecutive years worth of future 1st round picks, unless you have an extra 1st round pick. Basically the trade cannot end up with you not having a 1st round pick for 2 consecutive years.

To make your trade work, would potentially trade the 2010 1st round pick and the 2012 first round pick, but not consecutive. Trying to factor how we would protect those picks (if we wanted to) would make a viable trade very hard to predict.

not likely to happen....it may be true wade is unhappy about the direction they are going in, but that's precisely why riley has been trying to get Amar'e to miami....apparently he's willing to give up anyone, but wade....possibly beasley/JO...basically wahtvr it takes, since that'll keep wade happy for now..

League rules prevent trading draft picks in 2 consecutive years. sorry, but your trade scenario starts off on the wrong foot.

It wouldn't be the first time an unhappy Florida star gets traded to Houston. ;)

So he ain't happy with the way his team is going... and the logical thing to do is to join the team that just got beat by that team by 33 points?

Morey is holding out for D.Wade the way I am holding out for Megan Fox.

Yea, slipped my mind, but you can trade this year and a future pick correct?

I would throw pretty much the team to get Wade. If only to give us a shot next year. If Yao could stay healthy all year.....

I know it would be suicide but I would give the 2 picks, Landry, Brooks and Budinger for Wade.

Someone good would want to come play with us for the MLE in the offseason and we can go from there.

    Wade is awesome.

Well, to be fair, we didn't have several of our players (Ariza, Lowry) available that game... and we do have half our cap space sitting out.

As I understand it not until draft day. Before draft day, the 2010 pick is still a future pick. After draft day, you are no longer trading the pick, but now the player, in which case you can trade the newly drafted player and the future 2011 pick.

Though the trade you are proposing for Wade is silly. I honestly do not expect Wade to stay healthy given the way he plays and his history. Your proposed trade removes all the teams secondary/role scorers leaving us with Wade & Yao, very reminiscent to Rockets teams circa 2005.

    It could happen.
To quote Yao after the Game 1 win against LA- "Just like NBA says, Where Amazing Happens. ;)

    Uhhhh......... whats your point

We had played them earlier in the season when we were on a "roll" with Lowry and Ariza and still lost by 9 at home, oh and half of our salary was sitting out too.

Well consider the availability of point guards next year "if any" (besides the draft of course) our first asset would be Brooks. Then consider the draft is full of bigs, they'll take our 1st pick and Budinger/Brooks and that is just a start.

It's well known that Boozer wants to play in Miami and that Beasely has been a bust.
