IF Danuel House is coming back, than yes it's fine. Hilarious how he's still the best wing on the roster, though,.
The warriors have to know this is their last year together. KD's presser was a laugh, he gone. Draymond don't like him. Boogie Cousins never helped a single locker room and is just using them the same way they want to use him. Klay wants his money. Their reign is likely over already, chemistry is a real thing and they've got none of it. GSW fans warmly welcome the big 2 of Curry and Green lol... Meanwhile...if given that which is never a given...a healthy Rockets squad is still a dangerous team. Shumpert certainly does not make us worse. Harden is doing all-time things. Cp3 is still a superstar despite the wailing of CF. We need Clint back. We need Ego to turn back into Eric Gordon, 6th man extraordinaire. We need Tucker to remember how to make round ball go through hoopy thing. Things...aren't that bad?
ZERO chance at making it past the 2nd round. I doubt they win the first round matchup. This defense stinks horribly. Iman Shumpert is garbage and so is Rivers and Faried.
as much as you like to whine, lets make a bet. tip jar sick of seeing you being a crybaby. lets see if you really believe what you say
that's what i thought @LorneMalvo According to you the rockets losing chriss/knight, so they won't make it past the 1st round. LMFAO. @ME when youll actually put your money where your ridiculous mouth is
Different situations though - Ryno restructured here contract and has some money non-guaranteed for next season. Also Phoenix's could absorb TJ's salary because of their cap situation - pretty much everyone on that team this season is on a rookie deal. TJ Warren is their 2nd highest paid player after TJ now at like 12M. I know you're better than this Carl - its not an apples to apples situation between the Rockets' cap situation and the Suns'
I mean, I'm just a layman in the art of player acquisitions, unlike the scores of professionals here , but it seems to me that Morey's been doing alright. 1) He's divested the team of just about every player that was considered a drag on the team on these forums. Yes, he is the one that acquired them in the offseason, and now they're all pretty much gone. So, he's corrected mistakes within half a season. 2) Paul and Capela have been injured. (Let's just ignore Paul's contract for this discussion.) Morey got Rivers to help Harden who was singlehandedly shouldering the team. Rivers may not be great from three (right now, there's still time for him to work on it just like Gordon's doing), but he can handle the ball, and he can drive. The team didn't really have another driving threat besides Harden. Rivers is finding his place and has a great attitude about being here. Oh, and Paul IS back, so now you have a backup point guard to take some minutes off of Paul to keep him healthy. 3) Morey got Faried to fill the Capela gap. Faried's doing fantastically and loves being here. He's had a double double in every game except one so far, right? His energy is infectious. Yeah, he's not sized to be a center, but he's making lots of things happen anyway. Oh, and Capela WILL BE back, so now you have Faried and Capela, so you're not relying on Nene to be your second go to. We still lack a viable 7 footer, but I mean, we're still much better off than before. So, at both point guard and centerish-forward, the team is actually more robust than when it started the season. 4) Morey just got a 3 and D guy. I haven't paid attention to Shumpert in years, but he always seemed quite solid, so this seems pretty damn good. I mean, it seems like a lot of things have been improved/fixed/however you want to put it, and, in a strange way, the injuries to Paul and Capela forced a bolstering of those two positions. Morey did all that as well. So, ultimately, it's going to come down to staying healthy. If the team can stay healthy, then it's still not a perfect team with these mythical perfect fits you can rarely actually get, but it's much more solid than at the beginning of the season. Oh, and also we have this one guy that's legitimately doing Michael Jordan type things on the team, and I don't think anyone would take a Jordan-led team lightly in terms of its potential. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I'm probably more optimistic than most about how things are looking, which I didn't expect. I don't know that Golden State is or isn't out of the question. We shall see.
we have missed out of every trade opportunity that has been floated. Mirotic, Green, Temple, Porter, etc..... All of those guys were rumored to be Houston targets. All of those guys were moved. Rockets ended up basically just shedding cap for lux tax savings. Very very disappointing. If this is it (and with 22 min left, Im assuming it is), Morey really let me down. Don't get me wrong, i like shedding salary and getting more flexibility for free agency, but it's not even clear if it makes a difference given our salary cap situation, and we didn't help ourselves compete this year (a precious prime year for Harden). i'm freaking bummed.
Uhmm yeah, it's been alright, but with the little window of contention we needed to go hard after a 4/3 hybrid 4/5 and not another wing.
lol the spin team on CF. Harden didn't get anymore help during an all time historic NBA season. Even the Lakers were smart enough to go after Gasol. The rockets are basically content with running james to the ground
8 minutes left. I would say it is over. No more moves save for buyouts. No earth shaking moves. But solid strategic moves to shed bs money without lowering the potential for the team. So. There is that.
