You probably won't be around here when Bynum goes down with another knee problem this year but do me a favor and punch yourself in the face for saying stupid things when that does happen.

At least we weren't part of the problem, by helping create a laker super team.

How are we not a bust this season? Even if McHale doesn't tank intentionally, at best we are 10th in the West, likely lower. This is a full-on tanking season.

Is that supposed to comfort us? At least then we'd be getting something out of the deal. The Laker super team is happening one way or another unless Hennigan pulls his head out of his arse this morning.

10th in the West is a playoff team in the East. That's the problem, lottery seed is based on overall record compared to every other team in the NBA, it isn't based on where you rank in your conference.

We had a legit center and a superstar recently and they both became injured, that happens in the NBA.
You can't go from loosing two stars for nothing in return and just magically rebuild, it takes a little time.

Let's be clear, we don't know specifically what Morey offered or didn't offer.

We are getting something out of the deal. We get to keep Lamb and D-Mo.

But we are not going to be 10th in the West. That's if like EVERYTHING goes "correctly." Houston should be looking at something around the 5-8th pick. That said, it's not as if 2013 draft class is that great.

One of the highly touted rookies is Cody Zeller... I mean really?

    Oh no!!
Morey can't be the only genius GM that doesn't make mistakes out there?!¿

Face it, there's 29 other teams some do not care what they help produce(superteam) as long as they get what they are after. The piece that they believe will lead THEM to a superteam eventually.

Korey has stayed strong and didn't break. The man who's dishing out the $ is a winner and just wants tl win as much as we, the fans do. Yeah maybe he's trying to make money on the side why wouldn't you when you have millions to give to these babies who bring up a ball and put it in a basket. Get over it.

It takes time Red Nation's just like the back to back Champions did. I assure you this when we are rocking n rolling once again it will be our turn to shine. Till then, sit back, be proud, cheer hard, and have faith.

    This.

Agents have now tremendous power to direct players' careers. This was overlooked by many good posters on Clutchfans who thought any Howard trade had to involve the Houston Rockets.

Part of me really still thinks that Bynum and Dwight are really going to try out free agency regardless of who their team is. They're supposed to get longer contracts(?) anyways.

They might. Dwight almost certainly. But they'd probably still resign.
No point to leave LA or Philly and bigger money for either of them.

Extension makes more sense for Bynum.
Another big injury this year could cost him a ton of money; while someone would probably take a risk and offer Dwight max with both his legs broken.
Also, if Bynum takes extension, he will be able to get in position to sign two 5 year contracts in the future (because he's younger). While Howard wouldn't be able to (the CBA restricts contract years based on age).

Bynum is going to protect himself this year. He's not going to go out of his way to strain his body. Nor is he going to sign and extension. He's gonna baby his way through this season. And then he'll sign his 5-year deal and be dead weight on Philly's books. Don't want him. Never did.

When the deal economics don't make sense, its fair to assume that there were "other" incentives to the parties.

I will always wonder if it was Stern. From rigging the Dallas series, to the failed Pau/Paul trade, to the horrible officiating Yao used to get, the league seems to go out of its way to obstruct the Rockets. My theory is that Stern is punishing Les for not absorbing the Comet's losses indefinitely.

I'm not sure how many times it needs to be said - 1 guaranteed lotto pick by itself is likely worth more than 4 later draft picks combined, throw in Jeremy Lamb (also a lotto pick) and there's no comparison.

Actually the Rockets high second rounder (Bobcats) is probably worth more than a number of the first round picks Orlando is getting since it doesn't require a guarnatee.
