Jason Terry and Manu where all star quality players and they both came/come off the bench so if Brooks is asked he BETTER sit his A$$ down and accept his role.

If you saw last year's playoff series, Yao and Brooks had plenty of on-court issues.

I wouldn't go as far as saying he'd demand a trade. He doesn't seem as egotistical as a lot of NBA players.

I don't like the Brooks/Martin backcourt defensively. There are lots of ways to contribute besides scoring and Lowry does all of them. However, we need Brooks in the starting lineup unless Yao retains his scoring ability or we trade for a star PF.

Do we want to win, or not step on any toes and hurt players' feelings?

why not have martin come off the bench with lowry.makes more sense to me because brooks already has chemistry with the starters. the rockets are already used to their bench coming in and doing alot of scoring. we don't need to restructure the team, just fine tune it.

Is that optimism? That is the question.

I see your point. But Brooks has had to get so many minutes cause we've no consistent score on the team. He was our only offensive threat. When he has a bad game we usually lose.

Like Battier said..."starting is so over rated"

So, think about it, Lowry has been the most important so far, and it will be too next to Martin and Yao...

Listening the interview, I feel that Morey bets for Jordan Hill above Jeffries on the rotation. Talks too much about the historical defensive rebounding problems of the second one, plus he said in old interviews about Landry that we need some athleticism inside, and of course we don't have it with Scola-Hayes-Andersen-Jeffries.

Give him time and I think Hill will be our savior inside.

Because Martin is the type of sg who needs 20+ shots a game in order to be effective. Can't get that coming off the bench. It would make more sense to bring Aaron off the bench. The team had great success when Aaron came off the bench before.

    Totally agree with that...

Not only do they have a lot of new bodies, they need to see what those new bodies can do. From this point it's all an assestment to see who can do what and how do they fit with what we are trying to accomplish...

I would not be surprise if both Adelman and Morey are seeing

    1) if this player can step up it this player moves on...
    2) How can I use this player in a trade...
    3) Does this player fit the system...
    4) What do we have and what do we need if Yao does not make it back..

Not at all, Kyle has been a major contributor, he comes in and changes the tempo, we need that.

You know.. Kyle is good.. he brings that spark off the bench.. Another reason why you want him coming off the bench.

But this team is basically starting over from scratch.. The last few games are almost like pre-season... You have a lot of new players, new roles, new adjustments and you also lost a big part of the bench, motivation, heart and spirit of the team in Landry... That is a lot to over come.

You have to give the team time to grow, learn one another, adjust...

It seems as if that's all the guys have been doing... They adjusted thru T-Mac saga, then without Yao, now with this latest scenario... Time heals all wounds and things..

manu ganobli comes off the bench who gets 20+ points and should start. you can't have the whole starting 5 all be 20+ shots a game players, the offense should evolve around yao and martin's numbers are down and he hasn't paid his dues in a training camp and come off the bench to just step in and start. does martin have any defensive attributes to justify starting? right now he doesn't have offensive attributes to justify that. rockets are loaded with guards, they need bigs.

good post but the rockets have been wating on father time for a while now. at some point you have to make better decisions on personnel. why do we not address the pf position? its been going on for years now, still need a big with a defensive and offensive presence at c or pf. just because yao comes back doesn't mean he'll be the old yao. what if he decides to play for china and gets hurt? then we have nothing but kevin martin and the boys.

    Exactly...

But I think Morey and Aldeman are doing that now...
