I mean...I'd rather have Thomas starting over Prig and Terry, sure. But I'm not sure I would give up on DMo for him. At least not this season.

It's not like anyone could have known Bev and DMo were going to be injured.

Thomas shot like 33% and 17% from 3 in the playoffs.

That doesn't mean he hasn't made mistakes. Mo Williams is 32, and he can score/pass. He was available for very little, but Morey didn't understand the need for getting a cheap yet effective PG. Mo wouldn't have made us a contender, but he would have given us some firepower in the backcourt.

Morey is better at getting the Dorsey's of the basketball world.

I agree with this. Morey system is 3 point shooting, layups, dunks, & free throw shooting. What is funny is that, the Rockets are horrible in every sense of the word!! He made good trades but I think it starts from the Top (GM) to the bottom (Coach McHale) Rockets need another playmaker, whether that is a Point God, or a True PF.

I will say this though. Morey's twitter has been dead since last night. I imagine that someone is not taking this loss well.

no Motiejunas, no Beverley, i guess when you lose 40% of your starters it's pretty hard to win a second round series ... & we manage to get the 2nd seed and the division title without our star center for half of the season ... fire morey !

You are absolutely correct....Morey built a system devised around 3 pointers, yet inexplicably acquires no real 3 point threats and trades away the ones we have. The only legit 3 point threat we have other than Harden (sometimes) is A 38 year old. Guys in this system that are hoisting up 3 pointers are being intentionally hacked because they can't even make their free throws. Why build a team around 3 point shooting that can't consistently hit 3 pointers!!! I like the concept, but for the love of God, Morey needs to quit focusing on the third superstar and focus on guys like Korver, Reddick, and others who fit the style of play that this team has decided on.

Regular season records are irrelevant if your team gets embarrassed in the postseason. Yes we lost Bev & DMo, but they aren't why we'll probably lose this series. Its because our Moreyball offense gets exposed against good, well coached teams. You're not winning a championship if you dont run plays or have solid half court sets. The Rockets are WAY too easy to stop. McHale does suck. But he's the PERFECT coach for Moreyball.

This whole "coin flip" philosophy is severely flawed. Its not successful. We need to abandon this if we're serious about being a contender. No more gimmicks

Motiejunas was only starting due to the injury to Jones.

I completely agree. If we had Bev we wouldnt have to over compensate on the pick and roll.

Actually it is Morey's fault. Morey's the one that didn't resign him in the first place back in 2010 which why is why Goran doesn't want to sign long term here because he doesn't trust Morey.

that's how it works a lot of times. one guy gets an opportunity because of another's injury and he doesn't look back. terrence jones would not be starting over a healthy d-mo.

Please stop, the team he built with dmo and bev is a 9 deep rotation. Right now we have to put up with smiths and jones crappy nights, something that would never happen if dmo was healthy.

Moreyball offense (i.e. space and pace) was pioneered by the Spurs..... The data tell us that is the best way to play. Execution and personnel are another issue. We have the versatility and length to play shut down defense, but it's been a matter of execution. You think it is coincidence that we mirror the Warriors, Spurs, championship Miami, and the Bucks in terms of how we play team defense using our length and versatility to switch.

We were number 1 in PPG heading into round 2 out of all playoff teams and we were second in the West heading into the playoffs. Your mentality is still stuck in the 90's and early 2000s.

This argument of yours is gimmick and has been debunked many times.

Idk. TJones pre-collapsed lung was pretty good for a third year player

Can people just not face the fact that some teams are just bad match-up for us? Clippers have been a bad matchup for us since Griffin's rookie year.

A shotblocker like DeAndre puts more pressure on our role players to hit our open shots. And they aren't hitting those shots.

One thing Morey could've done better is acquire better 3-point shooters. That is a large part of his offense.

He's done a very good job overall though.

Oh and extending McHale wasn't good either. Surely Morey had influence on that.

McHale is doing an above average job overall.
