this i can agree totally. but it's just too different from what you said initially, isn't it?

and to make it out of the 1st round would be a first in 12 years. a big step forward if you ask me.

I am not sure whether you intentionally take what Yao said literally and kind of take it out of context. Yao has never said, in fact, no player (even the last bench warmer) has ever said, that he's not interested in a championship, or he's not going to work hard towards a championship.

But given Rockets history, the sad history of Yao-Tmac combination. Yao has said multiple times in the past, let's take one step at a time, let's pass the first round first, before we talk all the big talks.

In this season and last season, Yao has also said multiple times, the time for talk is over, and let's win the next game first.

What's the point of talking about WCF or Final if you can't pass the first round? How could that be interpreted as yao only interested in the 1st round? How could that be distorted so bad that he wants a team to pass 2nd round only?

I mean seriously, can any of you geniuses out there, show me how to assemble a sure 2nd round playoff team, but a never conference final team? What's the magic format?

Like I said many times, if you want to spin everything to fit your opinion, you can. If you really like the person, and believe firmly whatever he does is for the right reason. If you see that person kill an elderly in front of you, you can interpret it as that person just wants to help the elderly by putting him out of misery.

All I'm saying is when the best 2 players are closer to 30 than 20, then 1 step at a time doesn't match. The hornets and lakers from last yr vaulted to the 2nd rd and the finals in 1 season. As I said when morey started making moves, the goal shouldve been beat La. They were the kings of the west and they were young. I don't get satisfaction out of winning a playoff series. This isn't the dave ramsey plan , this is about the ring. That's it. Now the blazers can afford to take baby steps because their whole team is under 25, but the rox can't be like that.

In that case, Yao should go Lakers. Yao+ Gasol + Kobe + Odem = CHAMP, CHAMP, CHAMP.
Rockets will rebuild, like blazers did.
Spend 5 years get plenty of Young, Talented players, make something happen.... :D

Yi JianLian is more representative of the Chinese people. Yao is your stereotype mama's boy trying to be friends with everyone. Off court I understand but on court? Slam it down big boy. Not representative of the ethnic Chinese in general. He is more of your North American Chinese stereotype if you ask me albeit a larger version.

    Relax guys...

For the people who understand Chinese culture, the #1 of a team would always "like" to be informed regardless he/she cares or not... Yao is really a "keep the emotion inside" person, so if he ever says something to the public, that means he does care... Take it or leave it...

If fans really want Yao to become the true leader of the team and not take ***** from anyone, then that should include our GM Morey, so here is something Yao could do, tell the public that Morey was disrespectful for not telling him about the trade.. But, do we want Yao to do that?...
