Economics aside because the NBA is nuts this year with the new cap, we did just get two guys who can shoot lights out when harden passes to them. Something this team desperately needs. Do I love either player? No. But perhaps they fit with the new system

Having a -10 scoring differential doesn't make you average, it makes you the worst team in the association.

Morey just doing what Leslie asks, he's giving out contracts like he never did in the past. We are stuck with these 2 birds for at least 3 years. I think Morey will resign sooner than some might think.

They are not stupid. What do you want him to do? Sign Durant? All 30 NBA team want to do that.

I think the same. This is clearly the Les/D'Antoni "****" show.

until Harden walks, we won't be rebuilding and if he re-signs after his contract is up, Les will keep building around him. Les doesn't believe in tanking so that'll never happen.

Going young and developing players in the hope of building something special is not "tanking", it's what good organizations do when it's obviously best for the team.

The Rockets seem to be viewed by the players as a place to go to start your career or rejuvenate your failing career. It appears that an established player truly interested in winning a championship one day isn't interested in the Rockets.

The Rockets have to be aware of that perception. The best way to start the process of changing that would be to hire respected winners at GM and coach. Showing up to meetings with the nerd guy and the coach with more Ls than Ws isn't gonna getting the job done in most situations. Assuming you can even get a meeting.

It's no secret that ownership has five boxes they want checked.

    In no particular order.

    1. Stay under cap.
    2. Have at least one star.
    3. Have a high scoring offense.
    4. Have a winning season.
    5. Make the playoffs.

You can, of course, accomplish all those things without winning or making the finals or winning a championship.

I wish ownership only had one box - winning a championship. Then they would not have made any of the moves they did.

These Rockets are starting to look more and more like the NY Knicks.

    Constant treadmill to nowhere.

Yeah, a guy with no shot and is passive is not a recipe for a dominating presence in the NBA.

This is why players and myself respect M. Cuban, deep pockets and super competitive. Wants to win the championship every year.

and has no idea what he is doing. He got lucky in hiring Carlisle otherwise, his tenure as owning the Mavericks would be abysmal.

For all that respect, no one wants to take his money.
