Did we forget about last year? Last year was Plan A, CP3 was Plan B. Our Plan A wasn't working and then our Plan B went down with an injury.
Lots of good points from the OP and everyone else. First and foremost, losing CP3 was a huge blow on both ends of the floor. He can shoot the three, as a good midrange game, and a ton of great defensively. And we not lost him I think the Rockets win the series. Speaking of midrange, I think that’s the missing ingredient to a championship team. Golden State obviously she is the three well but look how much they killed us with Durrant’s mid range game. They don’t rely entirely on the 3 whereas the Rockets tend to get carried away with it way too often. Problem there is that you only have a few guys that can knock it down consistently. If Morey intends to play this system he needs to sign some more shooters. It’s pretry damn obvious the Rockets can’t rely on Ariza, and Anderson is a defensive liability.
Not allowing CP3 to play when CP3 could've played. But Morey knew the Rockets could beat the Warriors without CP3 but alas, didn't expect the refs to suit up for the Warriors.
In fact Morey nearly pulled it off but bad luck for us and good luck for them did him in. No shame at all and the truth is that Morey has the blue print to dethrone a ball/player movement offense. You can bet other teams will follow suit.
Ref's caused a 22 pt swing against the Rockets to end at a 9 point game. Refs were the problem, not the Rockets.
Good point! We should have signed better players during the season that had been bought out! You know... like, umm.. well, someone better
We will never know, but I feel extremely confident the Rockets would have won one of those games if CP3 was available. Even with the refs.
Question on Durant and his Mid Range game .. . . .Cut 4 inches from his height. . . . do you think he is still that successful? So unless there is another 7 ft mid range monster. . . i don't think a crazy outlier like Durant makes the case for philosophy failure Rocket River
Well, we did not make a whole deal of trades by trade deadline, we could have signed even better players in last year's offseason.... dun act as if it was impossible. One decent ball handler could have changed a lot with CP's injury. Many feel that way.
even with cp3 they're up against the refs but the league the league has made up their mind wanting superteam GSW vs superhuman Lebron
I might agree that they should have handled the Dmo situation better. I know he was injured but miraculously he was never injured after that. They probably needed Dmo to play as hard as Capela on the court.
My not be a popular opinion but I would take Dmo at his best here in Houston over what Capela has given us so far simply because he could create his own shot.
