so far this season, battier has been underperforming hardcore, his D on kobe was great but he just made everything, it really hurts when he cant score or make those shots. The guy is a class act but since hes over rated i feel we should move him in summer for a win scorer, how about jamal crawford or something, golden state wants him out and he is clutch. that would allow to sustain a 6th man role while giving us a scorer.
DD, that would work if the Rocket would have had shot badly overall, but it was all turnovers. Wafer being in there mean nothing if he's not getting opportunities, which he won't be if Yao's turning it over, Ron's turning it over, and even Wafer is turning it over. Is wafer really going to help in that aspect if he scores 6 more points, but has 2 more turnovers in those extra few minutes? those two could possibly cancel each other out. Fix the other issues, and then if you're still losign then tweak Wafer'sminutes.
Turnovers were bad, but if the Rockets hit their normal % from 3pt range.....which would be about 9 or 10 for 28 instead of the 5....they would have won the game going away. DD
Was Von's offense worth 16 more points to the team? No. Points scored isn't the same as net points added to the team. It's not like Battier used the same number of possessions but produced 16 less points.
The team already has his attacking ability and thats Wafer coming off the bench. And DD he is an emotional semi brainless player who has no playoff experience what so ever. Battier is not hitting his shot right now but he covers up alot of holes as far as the little things go that far out weigh substituting brains for aggressive stupidity. Wafer is not a smart basketball player AT ALL and I fully expect to see Barry in the game alot more come playoff time. Wafer is perfect right where he is coming off the bench.

Very true, but only 4 of those 3s were shane's. Ron was like 0 for 6. If shane hits his normal %, let's say 2 of 4, or wafer takes those 4 instead and hits 2 of 4, thats 6 points. Althought they would have mattered in a close game, it's not enough to say they would have pulled it out. Now I know you were refering to the team as a whole making their normal 3pt % not just Shane/wafer, but i'm trying to point out why Wafer for shane isn't the solution to winning, there's bigger issues that would givs us a better chance of securing wins, if fixed.
Actually Ron was 0-8 and Shane 0-4.....so if you take them away...the team was 5-16 which is not great but it is not quite so bad. Our starting wing players were horrible, while Wafer was borderline great. DD
All Shane needs to do is take himself, and his Dukie buddies and head down to Cancun before the playoffs so he can sit in the sun for a while. I'm a Shane guy, and what Shane brings is Defense. is defense sucks right now. His shooting sucks too. Wafer's D sucks. But atleast he has some offense. I'll give the nod to Wafer to get more PT, but i'll keep Shane in the starting lineup.
I don't mind give more minutes to Wafer. Battier's defence is not as good as it was, if he cannot knock down 3s, he becomes a liability.
Shane Battier is definitely the weakest link in starting lineup now. There's no way he deserves to be playing 30 mpg. It's hurting this team.
