CaseyH, are you American? If so, this is an extremely ignorant post. You really don't have any idea why calling a black man a monkey is a little different given the history of our nation?

So what do you call it when the President lies to the American people and the world in order to invade and occupy a sovereign nation that was not a clear and present danger to the United States? Dumb? A war criminal who should be on trial before the World Court at the Hague? Just what do you call that?

I will be the first to admit that my opinion on the war has changed drastically over the last 4 or 5 years, but I still don't think it's even comparable to setting up death-camps and systematically murdering 6 million people. Shouldn't even be mentioned in the same conversation, frankly.

When I was a dumb college kid back in the mid-90's, I used to call Hillary Clinton "Hitlery" just like Rush Limbaugh did. Only after extensively reading about WWII history later on in life did I realize how stupid that was.

Like someone said in another thread, people really are desensitized to most of the things the nazi regime carried out. A perfect example is the post above mine...

I didn't call Bush a Nazi in this thread, or another "Hitler," but I do think he is a war criminal who should face justice for his crimes against humanity. That, or people should just own up to the "fact" that he was incredibly stupid, ignorant, and manipulated as President. I don't see how one can have it both ways.

Find me some pictures of Bush on money with a bucket of KFC and a watermelon. They don't exist. Comparing leaders to a dim witted animal that looks comically like a human cannot be proof that someone is racist.

I don't even know what point you're trying to make here. Are you saying that comparing a black man to a monkey isn't racist because nobody made money showing Bush with exaggerated black stereotypes? I'm really at a loss here.

Bush freed 50 million people from two of the worst regimes on the planet. If that's a war crime, the world needs more war criminals.

I am saying comparing THE PRESIDENT to a monkey cannot be used as some proof of racism because that comparison would take place no matter what his race is. My example with KFC shows an actual racist attack. It does not make sense unless he is black.

In the case of Iraq, Bush made life worse for women.

However anyone with a sense of history of race in our nation and even the tiniest bit of sensitivity towards that history would understand that comparing a black person to a monkey would indeed be racist whether or not it was also done to white political leaders.

The sanctions were killing babies and mothers in the thousands - or so the left told us.

Iraq will never be what we in the West would like it to be, but getting rid of Saddam Hussein was a very good thing. Iraq had no future at all with his Baathist regime in charge. It has a rough road to go now, but al least the possibility for improvement exists.

Sorry but it seems obvious to me that if the only thing that changes is the race of the target, the attacks do not automatically become racist.

Casey, im not sure why you continue to try and make your point to a guy who thinks 99.99% white people are racist.

A person who finds racism in everything has race issues themselves.

    ummmm no.

i'd say the race of the target is pretty key as to whether the attack is racist?

So, I take it that you enjoyed the fact that Saddam Hussein killed about 1 million Muslims and you would have been happy to see him do more of it.
