I actually think it was Microsoft that bought the rights to High Heat.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. I wonder if they still have it though. Like I mentioned earlier, they sold off a lot of their sports studios, so I wonder if HHB was a part of that or not. I don't remember reading about it, but if it was, then TT probably has it.

If Microsoft still has it, then they should be able to put out a good baseball game, IMO (probably more so than 989 anyways). Whether or not they'll do it is another story.

Although now that I think about it, this is assuming that the devs who made the game are still working for Microsoft. If they all disbanded and went elsewhere, leaving Microsoft with just the name, then this is all moot.

BTW, it sounds like the VC games will be under the label "2K Games." Also, kind of OT, but EA has pretty much taken of DICE now.:(

High Heat was my favorite franchise in the past, but the only thing holding it back was the graphics.

If they combined that engine with the xbox's graphical potentail, they would have a really amazing game on their hands.

high heat was the bomb, i didn't even care about the graphics because the gameplay was so good, it did eventually show it's age though.

what sucks is that the best baseball game ever is mvp baseball 2004 and after this years version it will be no more.

there's no point arguing who started this whole exclusive license crap, the bottom line is that it happened and it sucks for the fans. why would anyone defend that whose not involved with ea or take two? the competition has unquestionably forced both companies to implement better features into their games and now it will be gone.

Here's an article with EA's take on the MLB deal:
Hmm...EA's comments sound kind of funny to me, especially when they are busy throwing money at the AFL exclusive license.

One issue that the article brought up is the possibility of EA teaming up with Sony or Microsoft to make a baseball game. The problem I see with this is that this will just piss off Take Two, meaning the future of the GTA series on those consoles could be at stake. So I don't know if that will actually materialize, at least IMO.

Glad to see High Heat Baseball get mentioned as well. Also, I didn't know so many people besides me liked the game as much as I did. I pretty much liked it for the same reasons mentioned. It wasn't the prettiest, but it was the best, IMO.

Way off-topic, but I thought this would be funny to tell. I asked this guy at school if he was going to get the new Zelda game when it came out, and he replied that it was coming out on the Xbox. I laughed and called him an idiot, which he proved by stating that he got that from a German magazine, which is accurate since they get games like 3 years before everyone else, including Japan. I've been laughing about that all day long, imagining Link and Master Chief teaming up in a game.:D
