That's true. So anyone who played in Europe before entering the NBA is a Euro guard?

I like the phrase "ignorance of fear." That should be the new team motto.
I can't wait for the summer league to see what Spanoulis can do.

Yes. But Manu is not a guard, more like a SF.

The power of the CluthFans board in action.

The writer of the article posted at the beginning of this thread pulled it staight off of this site. A Greek Sportswriter emailed me with a translation of the article- he didn't write it himself. The story quoted my post word for word and attributed it to the guy who translated it for me. The only place linking the translator to the article was made here, so the writer at the pro sports daily site copied it directly from our board- with no credit to Clutch fans. I wonder how many other "journalists" this site helps stay employed.

Sina's stock depends on us. If we cease to crank one day, I predict a big drop of Sina stock. So let's make some profit there(i.e. forge news that clutchfans are going to close, and all of us short that pig)

Wow, that's pretty cool. We have chinese journalists ripping off CF.net all the time. And now we got Greek ones too.

Let's not pick on the Greeks, they started Western Civilization for crying out loud. Had they been smart enough back then to copy right everything, Greece would have been the richest country in the world behind China.

No seriously. I think it's pretty cool that the community of cf.net has the contacts and the content to provide material for various media organizations. It's impressive. Really.

To be fair, Sina has also broke stories on serious injuries days before any American newspaper/radio broke it. I'm a believer now.

To be fair to Spanoulis, didn't we trade for the draft rights to this guy picked at 42 by Dallas for our guy we picked around 50 or am I thinking of somebody else?

Ya, we drafted a guy named Luis Flores and then traded him to Dallas for Spanoulis.

I believe we picked some guard named Flores or something at #55 and traded him to the Mavs who took Spanoulis at #50.

...on the off chance that the July 1 lockout doesn't cancel it.

i saw this on the chronical

    Tests of summer
There is a point guard who has blossomed ahead of schedule, but who remains an unknown commodity. There's a long, athletic power forward unlike any on the roster, but who is extremely raw. There will be a first-round draft pick to be taken too late to be a certainty, but too early and by a team too old to be ignored.

The Rockets will face decisions on the players acquired or drafted the past two seasons, guard Vassilis Spanoulis and forward Malik Badiane and the player to be taken in the first round next month. Those decisions could have a huge impact on the next decision in free agency.

With that in mind, the Rockets plan to go to an early summer league, beginning July 10 in Minneapolis. If Spanoulis looks ready to contribute next season, perhaps the Rockets will look more at frontcourt help in free agency. If a forward falls to them in the draft and the summer league indicates he is ready for rookie minutes, then that changes free-agency decisions. Even Badiane, if he seems like a valuable commodity, could change the Rockets' thinking about the length of a contract they offer.

"Certainly it's very important," Rockets vice president Dennis Lindsey said. "Malik's progress has been steady since we've retained his rights for two years. We want to see where his growth had taken him and where he needs to go. It's different for Vassilis. He's more mature. He's more polished. We'd need to see some areas we highlighted for Vassilis to improve upon.

"We want to see where he's addressed those in regards to our organization to be safer with the ball. His nature is to be an aggressive driver. At times he had turnovers because of that."

The Rockets will go to Minneapolis before the date when they can sign free agents.

It's a nice plan. And it could fall apart.

As valuable as summer leagues can be to any team, this summer it could be the first casualty of a lockout. With so little progress apparent — so much for that end-of-regular-season prediction — most expect at least some shutdown beginning July 1. The summer leagues could be the first to go.

I don't underdstand what the Summer League and players uncommitted to the Players Association have to do with each other. None of the players mentioned, not to mention 100's of undrafted FA's, have anything to do with the CBA or the lockout of the Players Association yet. Someone please explain.
