all that means is you have no idea what the trivia answers are in this thread or what I'm laughing about in person.
I borrowed the book from a friend, it is a very good read, i rarely read books and i read this book in like 2 days cuz i was so hooked to it.
OK, these two were inspired from the Kings/Mavs no defense thread. 1) No team has ever led the league in both scoring and fewest points allowed. Three times in NBA history, a team has led the league in scoring and was 3rd in fewest points allowed. Who are the three teams and the years they did it? (hint, all three were NBA champs that year) 2) What's the only season the Rockets led the NBA in scoring, and where did they end up in points allowed that season? (hint: nobody on the Rockets averaged at least 20 ppg that year)
Considering that it has been over a day, I will attempt an answer: Coach K at Duke when he was playing for Knight at Army.
I'm going to say Philly, 1983 one of the Russell teams. I'll say 1960 or 61. Da Bulls in the 72 win year, 1996. don't know. hell, i can't even remember a pre-francis year with no one at 20ppg...must be 1974 or 75. totall guess. now, how about mine about the 2 high school players who faced each other in the state finals then later went 1 and 2 in the same NBA draft. you can even use search engines.
You were right about Philly, but it was 1966/67. The other two were 70/71 Bucks and the 95/96 Bulls The only year the Rockets led the league in scoring was 1972-73 at 112 ppg, giving up 114, second worst in the league...Rudy T led the Rockets in scoring at 18 ppg. I'll concede defeat on your trivia question...too many parameters to look up, and high school stats are too difficult to find....
jerry west, jerry lucas, oscar robertson. any two of them involved in that high school question? if they aren't, is the state the two went to high school in, Ohio?
From earlier in the thread: HP has never gotten around to acknowledge that response as the correct one.
Ahhh...what is it? I was thinking maybe some game having to do with racial barriers? When were two superstars drafted from the same state 1 & 2...can't get it.
Yeah I think you're right, for some dumb reason I kept thinking Isiah went to HS in Indiana...chi-town I forgot...
correct-o-moondo...but you didn't complete the answer. who won the game. btw: i have no idea if this happened more than once. anyway, I think it's a pretty cool question. Manny, you're correct about Coach K. did you remember the answer from last year. if not, good call.
I have no clue. I knew it had to be Thomas and Aguirre. I remember them being best friends, or close friends since they were teens. I just had to check their draft positions to confirm. Thomas, Aguirre and Magic were all tight. I guess you had to be will all that kissing.
Yes, but I think I was the one who got it last year, hehe. I gave others the chance but after a day, I thought it be okay to tell the answer.
Is the year 1978 that this finals showdown happened in Class AA? I have a link and it doesn't list the results that way. That is why I didn't give that answer.
