What's the point of this? He obviously knows her on a real level since he talked to her very recently on the phone. Take your negativity elsewhere.

If you can't offer words of encouragement what that is <b>all that is appropriate</b>, you don't need to be posting anything at all. She is the wife of my best friend from college. We've spent the night many times in each other's homes. They were here for dinner only a few months ago. I've met her parents; her dad is now deceased. Proof enough?!
I suppose I'm negative for two reasons. 1. It's not family 2. It's breast cancer: not to be rude, but I've known soooo many people who have been diagnosed with this, and have yet to see one die. Worst case is having her breasts removed.

Thanks and you don't need to shut up... just be a little more sensitive. The tumor is (as I said) large and agressive. They didn't even get it all in the surgery. It has already spread to her lymph system. She has spent a decade or more trying to identify the gene/s which predict breast cancer. She is scared. That's enough for me.
