He's right. My uncle had one but they found it before it ruptured and were able to fix it but told him what they would have to do if it had ruptured. My thought are with you and your family.
Hope things are going well for you and your family FFB, and hoping for a speedy recovery for your mom. +
Thanks a lot guys. If you knew my mother, you'd wonder how I was ever made. She is that thoughtful and nice to everyone. We just got back. They found the aneurysm at around 5, and found out it was leaking, but not ruptured. There was considerable blood in her brain, however. They went into surgery and put what is called a coil right below the aneurysm. The surgery WAS successful. She will still be in the critical phase for the next 72 hours, but the doctors say the prognosis looks very good. Her survival rate they put at around 99%. She will have to give up cigarettes afterwards after her recovery. Apparently, they can lead to these types of problems. I'll keep y'all abreast if anything changes, but through friends, family, and this BBS I'm sure plenty of prayers were given out to her tonight. According to the doctors, these things hardly ever leak. They just rupture.
Buddy I'm happy to hear that the surgery was successful and the prognosis is good. The power of prayer is truly amazing. Words cannot describe it. I hope and pray that the prognosis remains good and that your mother makes a complete recovery.
yeah thats good because once it ruptures, it causes other complications as well. guess just appreciate life more now and live healty.
Don't get me wrong. The complications could still be there, including stroke and seizures, plus the small possibility of brain damage and paralysis. That's why she'll be kept under close monitoring for the next 72 hours.
