  1. Championships and media hating us for winning for 20 plus years

    Yeah, we're one game ahead of Golden State = we're going to sweep them, win 3 titles, Harden > Michael Jordan at 28, Cappella > Dream, D'Antoni will get more titles than Phil Jackson etc

    It's like we're watching a Netflix series and they think they know what will happen in the second episode

    Stranger Things have happened

    Nobody here can enjoy the moment. I'm happy. I don't need act like a LOF which the so called Rockets fans here are acting like

    Remember Hellraiser? I hope they all get stuck in a prison with a TV showing only ESPN First Take going on all day and they can't turn off the TV

    @tinman

    Why are we limited to the two choices you gave us?
    That is really a dumb set of choices you are forcing us to choose between and I don't believe that they are mutually exclusive.

    The media, for the most part already has a favorable opinion about the Rockets. The Rockets have a reputation for winning even though we have not won a championship in over 20 years.

    Their aren't any guys on the Rockets the media as a whole dislikes and the folks in the organization (Daryl Morey, Tilman Fertitta) have a good reputation. No-one will mistake Tilman Fertitta for Donald Sterling or Marge Scott, or Daryl Morey for Bill Belichick or Isiah Thomas.

    Although, some folks in the media don't like Harden because he likes to party. However, Harden is a really easy going guy that has always friendly with the media and for the most part, he has a friendly,cordial relationship with reporters. While Harden may not be mother Theresa, no-one is going to mistake Harden for Latrell Sprewell, Dennis Rodman, Ron Artest, Shawn Kemp, Charles Barkley, Bill Laimbeer,, Charles Oakley, Rick Mahorn, etc.,etc., You get the idea.

    The bottom line is this:
    If you win a championship, you get both a championship and media respect. Do me a favor and name a team in the NFL, NBA, MLB, or the NHL that won a championship and was hated by the media for 20 years? I can only think of one team that was despised by the media and that was the New England Patriots and that was because people thought they were cheaters.

    In regards to what a teams goal should be: it should be to win a championship. That is the goal of every single player, every single organization and what every fan roots for and hopes their team accomplishes. Finally, history remembers the champions and what the media thinks is a mute point.

    Well the media hated the Rockets and kept saying Jordan 'wasn't there' when he was clearly eliminated in 1995 against the Magic.
    They aren't taking those championships away, only Les can do that... Oh..

    If you read the GARM now, it's basically if any random person says anything about the Rockets that's not favorable it becomes a discussion.

    What about the Sonics eliminating us in 1996 and the Jazz eliminating us in 1997 and 1998? :(
