Sense we are on the subject of nicknames I want to take full credit for giving Luis Scola his nickname, "The Ice Cream Man". It happened during a home game live chat with Matt Bullard that took place at Fox Sports Houston's website. Matt was asking about players nicknames and I had that one ready for him and a reason why I liked it. I told Matt that Scola always shoots a underhanded scoop shot when he is close to the basket. And that when you get Ice Cream you get it by the scoop. (A side note: As a kid the man that made our ice cream cones was "The ice cream man"). 2 scoops please. haha we could only get one per trip though. Also Scola's shot in part scoop and part finger roll. If you know your Bball history the "Ice Man" George Gervin is know for the finger roll as his signature shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBHb6REVsvg And thats the true story of how I nicknamed Luis Scola "The Ice Cream Man". During that same chat a chick/girl/lady/ said that (Matt & Bill) should call Scola's spin move the "Argentinian Tango". I think Matt missed that one. So the next time Matt did the live chat I reminded him of the spin move nickname and Bill started using it the very next game. Cool right! So I'll only take half the credit for the spin move nickname. Too bad Bill Worrell has stopped saying "The Ice Cream Man" when Scola makes his scoop shot. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it zzpot puff puff
