not really because this guy would prefer to play SF because he doesnt want to bang down low. sounds pretty intriguing I wonder if he has the ball handling / shooting skills to play on the wing? Worst case scenario is we plug him in at PF / C with a 4 man rotation of Stro / Juwan / Yao / Lamp. Not too bad as everyone brings something different. J
In Detroit, when Darko plays at the end of the game, they call him the victory cigar. Does that mean Houston will have a victory sausage when this guy play at the end of the game?
Good Move By trading Moochie we get a 3.4 M trade exception, since Hornets are under the cap and absorb the salary difference. This TE will come in handy in future moves.
Geez, not even close. You need to know there are more than 1 European in the world. It was Dirk whom Carter jumped over!
Here's how it breaks down capwise. NO was under the cap so they could take on more salary than they sent out. We sent out something in the neighborhood of 4.2 mill, and took back about 800K. Since we sent out more than we got back, then we get a "Trade Exception" of about 3.4 million. That will last a year and essentially means that we'll be able to trade for a player making 3.4 million or less without having to match salaries. It's a worthwhile asset. We used a TE to trade for Mike James last year. Regarding Lampe, a lot of these young big men coming into the league will bust, but eventually turn into a servicable player. Just look at Diop. He was a huge draft bust, but he's still a young guy and now he's starting for the Mavs. If Lampe can develop into a decent backup big man then great. If not, then big deal. At least we got a TE out of Moochie that lasts a year.
WTF mate? Kind of a dumb move. We know Gumpy won't develop a young player and even though my left knacker is a better player than Moochie, what if (God forbid) Rafer misses time and we need a backup PG?
Maybe this guy turns out to be a player. Big men usually take longer to develop. FYI: Chad Ford really hyped this guy leading up to that draft. He was all on his pole.
This move was made so that Yao can have a new friend on the team. Since Boki left Yao has not had a play mate to run with.
all i remember about this guy is that he was supposed to go high in the draft, but he fell way down and then when they interviewed him, he didnt know how to be disappointed in english.........very awkward situation.
Me too, I sure will miss the layup lines where Moochie would hit the underside of the rim with the ball and it would come back and hit him in the head. I will also miss the practice 26-foot left handed, eyes closed airballed 3-pointers.
