Come on now, the New Yorkers actually think quite highly of Moochie.

    Some comments on Moochie

I hope Moochie does well in New York.

Of course I did. You don't see a used car salesman telling a prospective sucke....uh, client about that little oil leak (aka, little dribbler) do you? Then why would I, if I'm trying to move the leaking piece of scrap metal?:D

I think Van Gundy would rather have Weatherspoon over Ely.

Ofcourse, MANY OF US will disagree with that idea, but I think that's why we would've traded him for 'Spoon regardless of whether we could get Ely or not.

The thing everyone here is forgetting is that JVG has had a closer look at Weatherspoon from his NY days. If he was such a bust I'm sure JVG wouldn't have allowed the trigger to be pulled on this trade.
Besides, we have had some rebounding troubles lately, Cato is our only guy grabbing boards and he can't be on heavy minutes with the quicker PF's.

So, any confirmation that Moochie is traded yet? I could not find anything.

A.) Weatherspoon was acquired by the Knicks the year Van Gundy "resigned". Van Gundy saw him as a Knick all of 19 games.

B.) The Rockets are 9th in the league in rebounding. Further, the Rockets are THIRD in rebounding differential.

There's been no update on this in any of the morning papers. Deal dead?

Strange that no one mentions this anywhere. I did not hear the 610 report that Houstonrocketss and micah1j heard, but I was watching the game when the Jazz color commentator was talking about the Moochie-Weatherspoon deal and said, "though the rumor in the NBA tonight is that Moochie will be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers."

I was like, "huh?" .... came to the board and saw this thread. I'm surprised not a peep about this in any NY paper.

I think it was JVG that said "you can never have too much rebounding."

We improved in this deal, financially and talent wise. Through this next trade, NY will improve too.

We gave Moochie's minutes to Wilks (a wash at worst), and we'll be playing Yao a bit less, because I'm assuming Cato will play some more backup C and less PF, while Weatherspoon will play some backup PF and some backup SF.

    I just watched a Mooch's game(Knicks vs Nets).

Mooch looks nice wearing No.25 knicks jersey. He nailed a 3-point shot in the last 28 seconds.

My best wishes for you Mooch in New York!
