He's from Dallas, and maybe trusts Cuban to reload quickly. and btw, it's proven to not be healthy to dismiss Barea like you did.
Barea may be a problem for Jason Terry. But if Dallas thinks they're gonna contend for anything with him as their PG, they're in for a rude awakening. As for Cuban reloading quickly, he's been trying to do that since 2011 when he broke up that championship team. How's that working out? The problem Dallas has is the foundation of their ballclub is Dirk and he's too old to reload around. Cuban needs to do a rebuild. The Mavs are starting to remind me of the Rockets in the twilight of Dream's career. Les, Rudy, and CD tried desperately to keep adding superstars or rising stars(Pippen, Francis) with the hope of returning to contention. When all that really did was land them either in the lower end of the lottery or with a lower seed and first round defeat. Dallas hasn't won a playoff series since their title run. What they're doing clearly isn't working.
I wouldn't want him because he takes a buttload of shots and would cost too much money. Brewer can be had for a fraction of what Monta wants and does most of the same things for us. He's not as good of a shooter(although Ellis isn't particularly great from downtown), but he's as good at finishing and is better on defense.
No really tho nothing would make me happier than angry mavs fan going off against Lin. The mavs deserve the lofs
so were parker/mills in their more recent one….i'm just saying, aldridge has better options than DAL, including just staying at home w/ lillard
So was Jason Terry. No one in their right minds thinks he's the answer at PG for any team though at this stage of his career. Same with Barea. He's a nice sparkplug off the bench for 15-20 minutes. That's all.
I think you missed my point. pippendagimp asked why LA would go to Dallas. Well, he's from Dallas, and has said Dallas is on his list. So if they get him, that is major reloading. Then it makes Cuban's job easier to attract other players.
Barea is useless the moment an ounce of pressure is put on his dribble, something people like Terry can't do anymore, meanwhile he's averaged like 15% from 2, 6% from 3 and as many turnovers as assists when guarded by Bev the last 2 years.

I see what you mean. But like I said, how would he attract other players when Dallas would be capped out(til 2016 anyway)? Aldridge is not gonna sign for a major discount. He'll want max money or close to it. So if the Mavs spend 20+ mil luring him, they'll still need to address the C, PG, and SG positions. Sure, they could re-sign Ellis and Chandler, but that along with Aldridge would leave them with no more money and no real tradeable assets aside from draft picks. Where do they get a PG? What about their bench? Dirk would give them a helluva sixth man if Aldridge and Chandler are starting. But Aminu and Barea are free agents. Can they afford them? And that's to say nothing of the status of Parsons' knee. The Mavs are a mess right now. Cuban needs to just bite the bullet and start over.
"They just have a different understanding and approach to chemistry than we do. Some teams, and that’s not just the Rockets, just put together talent and the talent takes care of itself.
