Monta Ellis is the best guard to pair with James Harden

I'm not sure you can count 9-24 for a TS% of .468 as "going off." Keep in mind the lucky 3 at the end of the game inflated that TS% ever so slightly.

 

ellis had a double double, with 27 points and 13 assists which is nothing to sneeze at. plus an unbelievable 6 steals and I think at least three of those were stolen from harden.

I love harden but he cannot keep up with fast point guards like ellis, and he turns the ball over too much.

 

The only reason I would want Monta in Houston is so we for ever have to play AGAINST him. That dude lights us up every single time it seems like and I'm sick of it.

I'd like Ellis in a Jamal Crawford role coming off the bench.

Definitely don't want two players who dominate the ball as the Rockets starting back court. That really would make no sense.

 

I hope people realize that Monta Ellis this year is shooting .235 from beyond the arc.. to put that in prespective, Jeremy's Lin' shot .263 from beyond the arc in his bad November start, there is not a single Rocket who has made a 3 this year that's anywhere near .235, yes that include Terrance Jones and his 2 for 8 from Beyond the Arc. yet Ellis shoots more three than most of the Rockets, (including Lin, only Harden / Parsons / Delfino shoots more.)

Ellis is basically tied 2nd on the Bucks in terms of 3P attempt, and that has been on the the main reason why they're mediocre this year, he shoots them out of games way more often then hitting hail mary prayer shots for the win.

his WS/48 is 0.58, that's not good at all.

Yes Ellis shot poorly, but you can't overlook 13 assists. He was routinely blowing by his guy. Like at will. They prob shoulda tried Lin on him, but oh well what's done is done.

 

I would rather sign brian cook to the MLE

Ellis was good but this season his FG% is only .401 and 3P% .235. His PPS is 1.06 while Harden is at 1.5+.

To sum it up, GSW had Monty with Curry, and there was a REASON why they traded Monty and not the injury prone Curry. Go figure

 

Ellis is not a winner , do not want.

 

Don't worry. After Monta got here, he will have to share his 13 assists with Harden, Parsons, Delfino, etc. In our system, everyone will handle the ball and be the pg for a while. I'd like to see some yelling between McHale and Monta though.
