Monta doesn't make other players better and he whines a lot, just like yesterday...

Be willing to suspend judgement for awhile here.

The guys in your wishlists are not obtainable. They are definitely more desirable but the reality is those acquisitions are impossible.

Those who are not familiar with Monta Ellis career, his break out year he was 48% scorer, followed by a 53% then a 45%, then it dipped as he fell in love more and more with the 3.

HE needs to be guided back to his strength and his strength is his mid range game and his slashing to the hoop, a scoring game that complements James Harden's. With a spread the floor game and a pick and roll game, scoring opportunities will abound for a guy like Monta.

And no, James and Monta will not be the only ones touching the ball, that's not with the personality of this team. This is an excellent passing team.

A traditional point guard will look lost and useless next to James.

I am not a big believer in the 3 as it kills you as much as it helps you win. I'm a strong believer in the high percentage mid range and close to the basket game as you make the most of your scoring opportunities and possessions.

And no this was not a knee jerk reaction to the buzzer beater, I've been a big fan of Monta Ellis game for a long time and I really believe this tandem and 3 guard rotation could work.

But I definitely won't pay max money for it though.

seeing his pesky defense on harden all night long. I kinda prefer this type of defense than the lane roaming help defense of Lin and Harden.

Then we'd need two basketballs on the court in order for this to work

He's actually a decently effective pesky defender when he wills it.

Plus 6 steals past 2 games for example.

small guard with big rebounding numbers.

as much as some here belittle this guy, his scoring ability is undeniable. and he ain't Kobe-selfish. this guy finds open teammates and also makes plays for them.

Some here may be too young to know or remember the Piston Bad Boys, their 3 - guard rotation was one of the best in the NBA ever. This could be a reincarnation of that with Lin - Harden - Ellis

Pretty high assist average for a shooting guards with 6 apg

Monta can play off the ball as he's not really a point guard, he can get himself scoring opportunities without the ball like going around screens, and cutting.

Again the defensive attention he will command will be another opponents weakness to exploit.

Use him properly and it'll be one of the best guard tandems ever.

It's easy to belittle him if you don't really know him or his strengths.

    Think of it this way

If you have James Harden and Monta Ellis on the court at the same time, who's going to stop them?

I think Lowry would have been a good fit. His set three really improved. Dragic would have been a good fit too for the same reasons. An ideal point guard next to Harden would be a great defender, 3 point shooter, screener, and would be able to set the offense. Jarret Jack may be good in that regard, too.

Horrible thread overreacting to another pathetic loss. Monta Ellis is a ****ing scrub with a green light.

One thing that I hate about this team is how somebody seems to have a career night against the Rockets like every week.
