Rather then Debunk things right out of hand. I want to Thank Mr. Rainey for posting here. I hope what he says comes to pass. He has at the very least made us think about a trade. I would not be shocked if this trade happened, in fact, I would like it to happen, except that I would like to get Fizer instead of Jamison, but I would not be crying either way. IF you think about it, we don't need Cato, he can not catch the ball, does not understand a Pick and Roll, and these lack of skills alone would make him less effective then a fundamentally sound player. We would have 3 stars, with Jamison, Francis, and Taylor, a 4th almost star in Cuttino, and lots of good role players. Man, I would love to watch that team grow. My last point is to CLUTCH. You should keep people's identities annonymous. If they want to be tracked down, they can leave an email address. At least don't rat him out, until you have done some research into the validity of his claims. What if he is telling the truth, and we have lost a source? Peace and Love !! Amen DaDakota. What did this guy do that was so wrong? Maybe he did make up the trade, maybe he didn't. But what would be so hard about talking about this "potential" trade and how it would help our Rockets instead of wasting 80 posts about how this guy should leave and never come back. Hell, if he knows basketball, he's welcome here as far as I'm concerned. Anything would be a welcome from the 95% of the topics that are boring as hell right now. Hopefully that will change when the season starts. Now, if this trade were to occur, I'd have mixed feelings. I'm not sold on the fact that Hakeem will contribute much this year. Hopefully the silence we hear is a good sign. I'm personally sick and tired of hearing how Dream's in the best shape of his life every freakin offseason. But if he's not ready, we don't have a center. I think it's pretty obvious that it will take Collier some time. However, like someone else stated (sorry to not give credit), this team could become like the Sonics of the mid-90s (sorry AntiSonic ). Quick, young, explosive. Hopefully the defense could improve, but they would definitely give teams fits. The bad thing about this though is that the Sonics never won a championship. ------------------ Cheerleaders are just dancers who've gone r****ded. visit www.swirve.com
One last thing, I find it quite odd that most of the people bashing this guy have a relatively small number of posts themselves. How would all of you have felt, if us veterans hammered you right out of the gate? Peace, out ! DaDakota ------------------ All you MO-FO's better stop ripping off my lines !!
I took Clutch's post more positively than you did, DaDakota. Don't ask me why, but I think he knows this poster or has possibly heard this rumor. Clutch is always very careful in choosing his words when rumors come up so the use of "interesting info" and telling the board to "carry on" stands out for me. Why does he find the registration interesting instead of just dismissing it as another wacko rumormonger? Why does he tell us to carry on our discussion instead of telling us to forget about it? Clutch's response was just a little too cheeky. ------------------
Because Clutch wants the bbs to have something to talk about instead of those stupid Greatest memory threads. ------------------ "I talked about what degenerates they [Mets fans] were, and they proved me right. 1. SpaceCity: Interesting points, however I think when we are discussing trades, Hakeem shouldn't even be a factor. Hakeem is only with us next year, and we won't be contending next year. We need to be planning for the future, and Hakeem is not a part of that. 2. Talk about Jamison is interesting, but just how many stars is too much? I'm not saying I am against adding Antawn, but would there be enough shots to go around. The ball will be in the hands of Mobley/Francis' hands 50% of the time. Another 20-30% for Mo Taylor. I do like the offensive rebounding that he would be adding and he is by no means a selfish player, but would adding him mean not utilizing Steve to his full capabilities? I honestly feel that if Francis has the ball in his hands enough, he can control a game, but if he doesn't get enough touches, he won't get into that rhythm. At this point, I think it would be best to stick with our core. A few minor deals involving Rogers, Drew for backup frontcourt help would be nice, but don't mess with the starters. Right now, we have the perfect balance. (If Taylor sacks up) we have 2 premiere stars and a borderline star in Mobley. Cato, Anderson, Norris, Thomas, Langhi, and Williams fill in the holes as roleplayers. I feel that if the balance of stars-roleplayers is slightly swayed in one direction, things can go terribly wrong (as seen in the Big 3 years). Even moreso with these Rockets, as Francis, Taylor, and Jamison are just kids compared to the Big 3. Cato and Mo Taylor are huge question marks, but if they are committed to playing up to their capabilities (combined with the impending improvement of Francis, Mobley, Anderson) we will be in for a fun ride. ------------------ Mo money, Mo problems... I am NOT ragging on Clutch at all, I just think annonymitty(sp?) should be available to those who want it, and if it gets someone in trouble who might be a legitimate source, then we have lost something. DaDakota ------------------ All you MO-FO's better stop ripping off my lines !!
Amen. Well, I guess saying that the guy is posting from Finland is not taking his anonymity away from him yet...it's not like posting the full name or anything . [This message has been edited by Det The Threat (edited September 14, 2000).]
Det the Threat Your earlier post was TRULY funny!!! I haven't had such a good laugh in a long time. Swopa Our opinions are usually 180 degrees apart, but thanks for the insight into the GS management. I know the thing works from a CBA standpoint, but how come no one has mentioned the Bulls would have FOUR Centers under contract? Perhaps we get Brad Miller in another trade? (I don't believe there's a waiting period before trading recently signed FA's). This thread is very likely a hoax, but was VERY well thought out and has just enough elements of truth to be tantilizing. Besides, this thread is MUCH more enjoyable than "Greatest memories of..." and Streetballers. If Finland has an Olympic BBall team, maybe this guy was in the casino (mentioned on another thread) and pumped Rudy full of drinks to get this. ------------------ Is it Preseason yet??!! 2. Talk about Jamison is interesting, but just how many stars is too much? I'm not saying I am against adding Antawn, but would there be enough shots to go around. I just have one thing to say and I'm not sayin it could happen here but remember the Dallas Mavericks of a few years back, you know Kidd,Jackson, and Mash. These young and very talented players had a tough time learning to play with each other and it wasn't due to a lack of talent.I think the core we have now is talented and plays very well together just something to remember before we start adding every good young player to the team. ------------------ Question-What is Elton Brand not worthy of carrying? Answer-Franchises Jock
One main problem with that Dallas team was that they were all dating Toni Braxton at the same time, so they were too exhausted to perform. On the court, I mean.
First day and already 10 posts. At that rate you will pass Jeff and Heypee in no time. [This message has been edited by Det The Threat (edited September 14, 2000).]
#11 I knew the Mavs had some offcourt problems (although Toni Braxton would be no problem I'd simply murder her other two suitors and she'd be all mine )but I'm just sayin we've got a good young nucleus that seems to like each other so be careful when adding or subtracting from the mix. ------------------ Question-What is Elton Brand not worthy of carrying? I will say this, if this trrade goes down, I wouldn't be shocked. Im not saying Rainey is a fake, nor am I saying he is oilpere or Popeye. GS and Houston would get better parts of the deal, and I wouldn't be surprised if Krause believes HE is pulling a fast one on us. remember this is the same guy who thought FA's would flock to Chicago. He's in his own world. Also, Chicago has alot of young pg's, so Crawford may be expendable. Maybe the Bulls no something GS doesn't ? Fizer is gone because he is not a 3 and Brand will play the 4. Artest is an undersized 3 who shot 40 % . If he only shot 40% at the 3, there is no way he can play the 1 or the 2. Is chicago still in on Rice or Joe Smith ? ------------------ "The road to hell is paved with Republicans."
If the trade did go down would Vonteego Cummings move ahead of The Mooch on our depth charts? ------------------ Question-What is Elton Brand not worthy of carrying? Answer-Franchises Jock

I get it. So you're saying Clutch is some sort of alien life-form trying to communicate with us via the use of a common medium and it happens to be this BBS? I knew it. ------------------ Falk that Mo Fo!!!
