Oh he’s not a 3rd stringer there. He would be here though. Would be criminal to play him over Cam at backup 2. So he’d eventually get buried to 3rd string. On a per minute basis Cam was quite the wrecking ball 6th man type too. I think we got that covered and by the end of the season we will wish we had more minutes for Cam. Remember we’ve never seen the entire core playing at the same time. The bench is going to be very powerful next season. Cam will need help scoring though, the bench is a lot of defensive monsters.
Giddy was playing poorly on defense and his jumper was never a real threat, despite his 6'7 height. OKC may miss his playmaking. Chicago might be a better team for Giddy with fewer expectations. Caruso is tough and experienced, but how will he adapt with Dort and SGA?
Yes, I feel like the Rockets have hit on all their draft picks. Even Amen if he doesn't improve his shooting can still be instrumental as the Dunker Spot or as roll man in PnR. All NBA defensive team. I would trade Rockets picks too if they were Quickly, RJ Barrett, Giddy or Suggs. Without question.
I love this new Giddy/Caruso paradox. In the space of a year we've gone from "Giddy is one of the best players in his draft, better than Jalen, Mobley, Cade" etc to "Wow, OKC fleeced the Bulls by trading Giddy for a 10ppg player, what a legend Presti is!" I think y'all just pick whatever situational nonsense take confirms your bias at that moment in time lmao.
Right after the OKC game national media outlets were crowning Green as the best player in his draft class. And then he played bad for like the past 4 games of the season. For players this young, opinions can swing within weeks.
Yeah the Green effect usually works that way. Forget that he's put up way more superstar moments than anyone else in the draft class, he had some bad games after some good ones so he's absolute trash. For me it was more the irony of people calling Presti a genius for trading Kiddey for Caruso (10ppg literally his best season) whilst simultaneously thinking Kiddey has way more value than Green (who I think even the biggest haters would have to reach hard to consider a Green for Caruso trade one that we "won" lol.)
Ya most actual analysts say its a pretty good deal for both sides. GIddey has much higher upside than Curaso but probably isn't that useful on a team already full of self creating playmakers who are just better at that in SGA and JDub. Giddey gets to have the ball in his hands more in Chicago and develop properly and Curuso can be more useful as a elite 3 and D role player surrounded by a bunch of high end talent.
Exactly. Jalen Green picked #3 is expected to be a top 10 player by year 3 or he is a bust. Reed Sheppard picked #3; we ok with him being an off the bench role player for the he next 10 years. Just like JJ Redick, Luke Kennard, Korver. It's all about getting Sengun spacing so Sengun can be a star. Nevermind the ceiling his higher if you get Jalen that spacing. Problem is Reed is meant to take Greens place to apply said spacing. So who benefits more from a Reed Sheppard? Sengun.
