" Now THAT's what I call Mongolian BBQ." Name that movie ^ ( bonus points for showing a pic of the scene; difficulty: easy) EDIT: DonkeyMagic with the donkey magic on post #22. Good stuff, sir. No bonus points for the scene pic. What, you have kids? +Rep EDIT2: "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to DonkeyMagic again." Wasted REP.
where in Pearland is it? Another vote for Genghis Grill, loved it when I first had it in Dallas 3 years ago, and was pretty happy they opened 3 locations here.
I live about three blocks away from Hans. I know people are very loyal to the place, it's not bad but not as good as Genghis. The meat at Hans is flat and frozen, the sauces are watered down and the eggroll bar pretty much blows. Genghis has much more variety and quality.
I'm pretty sure nobody who has been to a Mongolian BBQ restaurant and went through the line picking vegetables and frozen meat and mixing their own sauces ever thought "hey, this is just like how the Mongolians eat."
ha, I live in Manvel, I know where the Town Center is.... where in the shopping center is it? Near Freebirds/Pei Wei? or inside near paciugo? EDIT: nevermind found it http://www.mongofirepit.com/ looks hella good, like an upscale Genghis
I wasn't speaking specifically to you, pgabriel. I can definitely understand people not liking the concept, but people who complain about their meal sucking are people who didn't put the right ingredients in
I liked the Mongolian Beef that China Star across the business building at UH when I was there. Didn't know there are actual Mongolian restaurants though...
Genghis Grill on I-10 bunker hill is off the chain... What a great idea to mix the ingredients yourself, add your own spices and sauce and let the chef do all the work for you while you watch them (optional)... The prices are not all that bad, 9.99 for a bowl and 3 dollars more for the next bowl like a buffet...
I am a huge fan of Ghengis Grill. Having over 40 ingredients I like, and can mix and match in whatever portions I feel like is great. If my wife liked the same stuff I'd cook it at home, but we get completely different bowls from each other. Also, the bottomless bowl is a great option for experimenting. Just mix a few ingredients together, hand it over, make a 2nd bowl while they are cooking the first.
The Ghengis Grill at Bunker Hill and I-10 has great food but the wait there is horrible. It won't keep me from coming back but I place my orders online now so there ready when I get there.
Guess I'm one of the few in this thread that didn't go crazy for Ghengis Grill. I've been there twice and just thought it was meh. Maybe I'm just not picking the right sauce/spice combinations?
