i hear ya. somehow i think reggie bush will end up with a better career than ron dayne, though. dayne's been doing it a while. bush is just starting. looks like they had pretty comparable days this week. i watch bush play and i see flashes of SOMETHING. i wish i saw that from our overall first pick. it's particularly disappointing considering we made the williams pick because he could have a greater impact earlier on.
Reggie Bush 3-0 Mario Williams 0-3 SCOREBOARD ____________ Btw ~ VY will be starting vs. the Texans later this season.
This post had NOTHING to do with the FALCONS vs. SAINTS game but, nonetheless: Quote material. Bookmarked. Anyway, let's get back to the thread topic: ESPN's BUSH WORSHIPPING vs. FIXED GAME
I'm a helluva lot more worried about watching Bush for the next 10 years than I am Vince. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy but I just don't think his skillset will transfer to the NFL. We saw how well the zone-read offense worked for the Falcons last night.
Okay, if I could go back in time, it seems like the best bet would have been to draft D'Brick with the first pick. In the 3rd round, we'd still stick with Spencer, but we would have drafted Ko Simpson (Safety) instead of Winston. Now that would have been nice...
You really don't understand any of what Max is saying here? I still have hope for Mario, but it's pretty obvious that Max's 'at least I see something positive' is dead on, IMO.
I don't think that was the only reason. It could have been one of them, but by no means was it the only one. I'm guessing never having any kind of pass rush and having a completely terrible defense last season played into it as well (I know I know, it hasn't worked out all that well 12 quarters into it).
You have to factor in that a lot of their offense is based on fakes to bush that open everyone else up
Yep, Henderson practically walked in on the reverse cause everyone keyed on Bush. Defenses are so worried about not being shown up by Bush.
oh, no question about it. but it was certainly touted as part of the reason. and remember, freaks like me were saying, "why does that matter? we're gonna be retooling, anyway! why are you guys worried about winning next year??" to be honest...i think most of it had to do with contract stuff. i think after the 2-14 season, mcnair feared a holdout more than anything. bush rode in to town with his jackass agent and didn't put a good taste in peoples' mouths. soooo...they went with mario who, by all accounts, is just a great guy. no matter what i thought of this decision...no matter what the reasoning was...they're gonna be judged by this. this was THE talk of the offseason. preceded by the Bush Bowl...and the Rose Bowl....and all that. it's a bit of a perfect storm, and a lot of that is just circumstance beyond the Texans' control. but like it or not, this is how this franchise will be judged if they lose....people will relate it back to this decision. unless he shows us something, mario will be the face of the franchise in a very negative way. they have soooo many holes, i don't think winning is an option anytime soon...so you have to give people some hope, elsewhere...you need to be exciting....you need to show glimpses of something for people to believe in. right now...they're simply not doing that.
Agreed...He's been mediocre at best...Even Sean wants him to run in between the tacles...That's not Reggie...This game was fixed, IMHO...I'm glad the people of New Orleans have there team back and at least for one day have a sense of normalcy, but in the end, I still think NOLA shouldn't have been rebuilt...You're throwing good money after bad...This type of disaster will happen again...
