Not to take anything away from Matt Leinart; I think he's be a superb QB in the NFL but...

"He is an exceptional football player," Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs said. "He is really cool and calm. I think he is one of the premier football players in the NFL. I think they have a real special person."

Well who in the h*ll is Joe Gibbs when you have omar23?

    ;)

No one seems to want to give Leinart any responsibility for the loss, but they lost because of the Bears blitzes in the 4th which Leinart appeared totally unprepared for (even blindsided). Overall he played well and will be a very good QB, but VY could be one of the greatest ever.

    lmao.

Yeah.. that sack was totally Leinarts fault.

I mean, he should have been able to use the eyes in the back of his head to blast the defender away with lazer beams and stuff.

The cardinals lost that game because they couldn't run the ball to save their lives which would have ate up the clock and iced the game, period.

You mean the same Theismann who was bashing the Cardinals for not throwing the ball and then bashing them for throwing the ball the next series? I know it has nothing to do with his view on Leinart, but Theismann was scrambling all over the place lastnight.

I thought I was going crazy until Kornheiser called him out, the guy was literally flipflopping the entire game. One thing is for sure...the new MNF crew is terrible.

Leinart looked really good lastnight, I don't think anyone can debate that. It's just annoying that some have to bash VY to make a point about Leinart, the same thing that goes with Mario and Bush.

They just need to replace Thiesmann. I like Kornheiser and Tirico.

Leinart could also be one of the greatest ever.

I only saw the 1st quarter, but it seemed to me that the Cardinal receivers were always wide open and it didn't take much from Leinart to get them the ball on relatively short passes.

This stands out to me because I've been watching a lot of McNair in Baltimore and their offense has been struggling. It seems to me that Baltimore receivers can't ever get open and he always has to make a perfect pass.

I agree. I thought breaking up Theisman and Paul McQuire was a great idea (and long overdue) and I was hoping it would make them both better, but Theisman is still just as bad. Not a big fan of Kornheiser either. They both seem to think they're bigger than the game. Typical ESPN attitude.

McQuire is doing Notre Dame games, I believe.

I like Korhheiser on PTI. I don't like him in this format because its like he's bothering Theisman, whom I don't like either.

But its like Theisman says something and then tony tries to always contradict him and Theisman is like, "shut up, I'm the football guy".

QUESTION: (not worthy of it's own thread)

I only caught the first half: At one point late in the 2nd quarter, Sir Barkley was in the booth with the MNF guys and predicted that 20 points would not be enough against da Bears, when at that point tony (who seems to not belong there, imo) made a statement like will you comeback to back up your words; basically implying that there was no way and Barkley had no idea what he was tlaking about.

    Did they revisit this later???

    thanks

Haha yeah their OLine was terrible! Did you see that play where no one blocked the DE and just gave them a straight path to Leinart? Just terrible. They did decent most of the game until the final quarter.

The other half of the blame goes to, maybe even more cuz of how much he is getting paid, Edge. How the hell are you going to fumble in the clutch. There is no excuse for that. I dont care if you get a negative 10 yards on the play, DONT FUMBLE. There is no excuse to have that much experience, get paid what he does, and then fumble in the clutch. Edge you are pathetic.

Oh yeah, and the kicker is crap too. That was his 2nd or 3rd missed field goal for the game.

I think all this bickering is comical. I remember when everybody that was an Eagles fan wanted to take Ricky Williams in the draft and actually booed the pick of Donovan McNabb. Now look at where McNabb has taken the Eagles. Look at where Williams has taken his teams.

I see the same thing here. You guys are so quick to put down or put up rookies when we haven't even seen them play a FULL season or given them time to develop. Vine Young could become a worthless quarterback in a few years, he could become one of the NFL's biggest stars same with Leinart, Bush, M. Williams, etc. Give them their time and maybe they will show you something special and maybe not. Just give them their time before you judge them.

    Heh.

Ever heard of audibles? What do you think they're for? Ever seen QBs pointing from offensive players to the d? What do you think they're doing, setting up dates for after the game?

The irony in it is that the offense eats up the clock to keep the other team's offense off the field. Here, it was the AZ offense which gave up points. Seems like the more their offense stayed on the field, the more points the Bears could score.

AZ collapsed under the weight of the blitz. QB responsibility for this varies, but in this instance it was obvious that Leinart was caught off-guard repeatedly...and oh yeah... period.

all i know is that i had 12 teasers and parlays that were still good, pending the Bears win last night. the spread was -11, and i had 6-pt-teasers and 7-pt-teasers, and all of my parlays were 6+ teams. the Bears were my lock for the weekend, so they were anchoring all of my wagers.
    and they fuhked me over.
instead of making something like $200, i lost everything.

    to the Cardinals!!!

    Eff you, Chicago.

No kidding, Grossman had about as horrible a game as possible and a lot of ou guys are acting like he's a seasoned Vet, he's a young QB who had a terrible nite.

P.S. I'm a huge Bears fan and still couldn't believe how they pulled that off last nite
