Mom, Boyfriend Sentenced to Jail for Taping Toddler to Wall

Seems kinda harsh punishment for a pretty tame action... but they seem pretty lame so I'm not losing sleep over it.

Puh-leeze. These people are trash. Period. There's no "smug"-ness in determining that. They made it readily apparent by getting high and duct-taping their screaming toddler to the wall in their wood-paneled, gun-riddled, trash-strewn, double-wide trailer home. If you think that thinking disparagingly of people like that makes me "smug", then I'm fine with that.

As for hating the Cornhuskers, well, that's just a family tradition.

 

This baby is taped to the wall and is not being harmed. My three year old would get a kick out of it. We wrap him real tight in a blanket and call him a burrito and he laughs. If I wrapped him in cellophane he would probably do the same and then when I took it off he would ask me to do it again.

Like I said. If I was going to put tape on his skin it would have to be like bondage tape or something and if I used duct tape it would be on just the clothing. Like this kid.

I'm a believer in tough love. But this is sick..I'm glad these @$$holes got locked up..

 

My (at the time) three year old nephew used to love hanging out inside my dog's 4x4 foot kennel that I kept in my dining room. When I babysat him I would set up a chair and tray-table for him to eat his dinner in there. He would go in, close the door and eat quietly except for when he would laugh because he loved being in there so much. I made the mistake of taking some pictures of him eating in there and showing some folks. Most people thought it was funny (because it was) but two or three flipped the **** out like I was abusing the kid.

True story bros.

 

I second that. I can't figure out how we have all these laws/regulations to make sure we don't screw each other over (which is a good thing) yet we let irresponsible, uneducated people create as many lives as they possibly can without requiring so much as a two hour parenting course. To me, reproduction is the most important thing that should be regulated.

 

Some kids enjoy weird things like that. And some people take it amiss. I understand the anger if the child skin was actually taped with duct tape, however, there are times when doing something similar will cause outrage for no reason.

 

if the kid was sad/terrified, and/or if they did it purposely to make him unhappy/scared.. then i hope someone punches their reproductive organs.

 

A couple are missing the point. Taping your kid to the wall while he/she knows you're both playing and that anything/everything would come to an immediate halt if they were to become uncomfortable is one thing.

Doing anything at all that upsets or hurts a child simply for the "entertainment" value is pure f&^king sick.
