Looks like a very cool site... but, no, I wouldn't pay for it. reasons: (1) (and this is the biggest): Free streaming w/ crappy interface wins over %5/month with great interface (2) No downloading? I can't get it on my portable music player? I'm not paying for that. (3) If Gom gets any popularity, the free sites will probably incorporate similar or better features soon. (4) I agree with what someone else posted: People are really paying for music?
I did the free trial and they don't have one of my all time favorite bands, Transatlantic (or at least that I could find). That's a deal breaker. I listened to a few songs, but they only give you like 60 minutes of free trial whether you are listening to music or not. I started it before lunch, listened to a couple songs, hit Pause and went to lunch. I come back and my free trial is expired. That sucks.
their overhead is much lower than Sirius', no satellite infrastructure to support. and their streaming rates w/ the labels are vastly lower than other streaming sites, which are basically disincentivized to stream (since the more they stream the more they pay).
I would pay 5 dollars a month if there was a way that I could listen to the music on my iPhone without needing to use the data plan(since I don't even have one) or be on wi-fi.
