Actually Sammy, only BGM has contested the trade on the basis of its fairness. The other protests were about allowing computer trades, which Moe has already allowed. So I count 1 vote against. But thats ok, Ill let it go. I just want to see what Moe thinks. And another thing, I will contest any computer trades BGM proposes no matter what.
It IS about the fairness DV. Ive played Madden 2002. I tried the e picks for a 1st rounder trade. It DOESNT work. The Best i could get was a GOOD 5th rounder for a bad 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders.
I protest all computer trades. Come on, that's not the point of a sim league. You know, we could do that in the baseball league, but we don't. There's a reason. The point is to trade like actual GM's and see who can do the best job. Everyone here wants to win, so it's a challenge to load up rosters. I like that. If we allow computer trades, the champion may very well come down to who can rip off the computer the most. The game's intelligence may be better, but I know it can't be flawless. Some player will be overrated for his production, and the league will be nothing but contenders trying to land that 4 average players for one superstar deal. Sooner or later, it will happen, and that team will probably win it all. That's not football.
nomar, i cant speak on madden2k2 but theyd have to have done a complete 180 on computer AI to make them smart traders. I mean, a lot of fair deals ive seen them reject, but the think is their are easy ways to manipulate them. Like if you replace an old mediocre backup in a trade with a young one theyll go from rejecting it to accepting it or numerous times in a LOADED DRAFT i can get 1st round picks by trading a 2nd, 2 3rd from previous deals and 4th-and 3rd and 4th rounders sucked on the game I mean as for the value of this deal, a 7th round pick is crap, okeafor would be a backup on all but one or two teams in the nfl and junior bryant is no more than average for a good rookie in hampton(im a huge longhorn fan so i know plenty on casey's game), and i am not demeaning your intent, but trust me give gms enough tries with the computer and we will find it easier to accomplish our needs without going through each other, because no matter how much madden improves its AI there are shortcuts to defeat it. Plus, whats the point of starting up a league of human teams if we can rip off the computer. That takes the fun and added challenge away, and even worse if a newcomer wants to join well be in a position like cats old sim league where teams have been previously ravaged. Look, i do not question your motives in this deal or the fact you are defending it, but im trying to look at the league as a whole, and while their are players i like on computer teams i feel in my heart that dealing with computer teams is not the purpose of a human interest sim league and if the case arises where people want to join shouldnt we try and keep these teams intact for them-either that or we just say after awhile keep it as is but well have a dispersal draft of teams not taken, but i dont want to go into any common draft stuff ever again, it is frustrating having to worry about losing good players year in and out and consequently, restricts trading.
That will never happen cat, if unfair trades are protested. The point is that my trade isnt unfair. Hampton isnt a star, never will be a star. Hes an effective run stopper. Above average at best. UNFAIR TRADES CAN BE PROTESTED. MY TRADE IS NOT UNFAIR. OKEAFOR IS A 2ND YEAR PLAYER, JUST AS YOUNG AS HAMPTON. ASK MOE IF THE TRADE IS FAIR.
Having a human represent every team in the sim league would eliminate this problem. The question is how do we get more people interested in the league that we don't have any computer GMS left? Cat: How were you able to get the NBA sim league you are running to fill up (and with a waiting list)?
Well I think Moe will be fair to the rest of the league and choose to not allow GM's to trade with computers since so many people disagree with it. Name one GM that would trade their starting DT for 2 backup DE's and a 7th round draft pick. If you can't name one, then this trade does not reflect the spirit of this league. IF, big if, we're going to allow trades with computer trades, then I'm going to judge these trades from the perspective of the computer team. Why would the Pittsburgh stealers trade for 2 DE's when they run a 3-4 defense? They have a decent line now, what would they want with 2 backups on the 49ers? Moe's a fair commish, I'm confident that he'll void this trade and not allow any future trades with computer teams. If he doesn't, we're going to have 20 trades in this thread by GM's trying to take players from the computer teams. By the way, I'm crushed to hear you will contest every trade I have with the computer. I mean I gave you reasons why this trade isn't fair, isn't that what you asked for? But now after giving you solid reasons, in my opinion, you drop the "well i'm going to contest every trade of yours" point. Yeah that really shows how worried you are about the fairness of this league...
I find it hilarious that you protest the fairness of the trade without having knowledge of the players invovled. Junior Bryant is my starting Defensive Tackle. Okeafor can also play OLB.
All Teams are controlled by me in case of someone new joining , The non GM managed teams are managed by comnputers But I control them , In Madden The compter trades go by ratings , They are very strict on compyter trading , So The computer does not controll the deal , SO If I wanted to I could Trade Bobby Hoying for Donovan McNabb because I controll both teams but The Eagles settings for free agent signings and so forth are controlled by the computer . mainley I controll all teams because I cant figure out how to switch teams from user to cpu .
Oh yeah, Mr. Abraham is a linebacker is acting like I didn't do any research. This is what I did to figure out that you are giving up 2 backups. I went over to ESPN.com and looked up the 49ers roster, then I looked at the depth chart and what do you know, I don't see Junior Bryant or Okeafor as starters for the 49ers. http://www.ourlads.com/secure/depthchart.cfm?index1=sf They might be starters on your team, but in the real world they're backups. You know Larry Whiggam is starting for me now in place of the injured Mike Brown. That still doesn't make him "starter" quality.
In the game they are rated differently than they actually are in real life. You cant always go by real NFL depth charts.
Obviously my computer trade is voided. Niners trade: John Abraham Niners 1st round pick Vinny Sutherland Raiders trade: Darrel Russel David Dunn
