If you guys ever need a substitute, I'd be willing to help out. I have a lot of free time these days. Just e-mail me.

This obvisously is taking too long, I propose that people have somwhere around 2 hours to pick and if they don't pick, fade or someone will choose for them.

2 hours is a little short...watch it land on the day i got 2 classes in a row or somethin.

Here's what i say: we find a time where like 5 or 6 picks in a row can meet in the chat or somethin...or maybe even more. If you're gonna set a new limit...the minimum time has to be 6 hours (excluding nights :))

I am not opposed to shortening the time limit but I still think 2 hours is too short. Some examples. What if the person ahead of you picks at midnight. Does that mean if you don't log on between 12 and 2 am someone gets to pick for you? If that happens on several rounds then it really turns out that it isn't your team but one that someone else picked for you. For me I am on a lot during the day but 3-4 days a week I am unavailable for extended streches between 3 and 7 so if the person that picks before me is online normally in that time frame I stand to miss several of my picks. I would rather see us shorten the time length to maybe 12-10 hours and see if that doesn't speed things up. I have sent email to everyone except 3814 that we started the draft so everyone should know that it is going on.

Yeah, 6 hours would be better. I know most of us have classes and jobs. after mduke picks I think everyone is pretty active and we will move things along quicker.

mduke - you have until 7 PM tonight to pick.

Sounds like a good plan to me. As commisioner you are the one that should call for a surrogate. That will give you the opportunity to give some leeway for unusual circumstances. Such as BBS problems, or a pick going down at like 11:30 pm and giving the next person a couple extra hours in the am to get the pick in.

    FYI

also don't forget, if you're like 3 spots away and you might be gone for 6 or so hours, you can always email a small list of players.

It's not like you HAVE to be there on the bbs to make your pick.

And then you can stop the draft and have the league vote on whether you can change your pick to Paul Pierce because you realized you screwed up.

    ;)

Pued's up. We might get through the first round tonight.

(Wishful thinking, I know. I'll be here on and off during the Magic-Hornets game tonight.)
