It's a bit annoying how people always use the word "undersized" to criticize Hayes. Being undersized isn't a problem in and of itself, at least not with a player like Hayes who has shown that he can defend and outrebound much larger players.

He is a bit of an offensive liability, although he's gotten better at getting in position to score when he's totally ignored by the defense.

Hayes will be in the game when we need to hustle and defend.
Scola will be in when we need more movement and points.

Too bad we do not have a player that can do both......

Scola might surprise you on that, even though I am a Chucky fan.

If Chuck doesn't work out here we'll be cutting him before we trade him. This team is tailored to fit his talents, we're probably the only one that has a role for him.

Don't mess with the Modest Bee or he'll sacrifice his ass to sting you.

I like Chuck.....but, would he be heartbroken if he became the 3rd string power forward in case we trade and get someone like Foster?

The thing about Chuck is that his first reaction is to just work harder. Everywhere he's been he's worked hard to put himself in the position to contribute. How many people here thought he would ever get a starting spot in the lineup last year? No one, not even Chuck. But he knew if he wanted to contribute he had to work hard to get on the court. So he did, and I think his working harder made Juwan work harder.

You can get whoever you want on the roster, but its possible whoever they are that Chuck will outwork them to get minutes. It's his first instinct. Even Morey admitted back in the beginning that they were going to try to get someone in there to start over Chuck, but that they may get into practice and Hayes would outwork them.

I don't think this is true for Scola, the guy seems to be a hard worker in all the videos I have seen and articles read. But could Chuck outwork someone like Foster. It's possible, even probable.

I think its most likely that Chuck will play less minutes than last year over all, even if we don't gain another big in a trade, but I do think he will contribute. He's got too much heart and determination not to put himself in a position to.

Chucks effeciency will go up now that he'll have less pressure by coming off the bench. chuck is a super role player. david lee type. defensive sparkplug off the bench.

    I have to disagree there.

Chuck, while being undersized is a hustle guy who hits the boards and plays tight D.....a smart player...glue to a good team.

Forever a solid rotation player whereverer he plays.....Maybe not starting material, but a rotation player nevertheless.

As I said, his contract and skillset make him easily movable should the need arise.

maybe Morey just paid him more so we can unload Hayes later on as a bigger trade chip.
