never pre-ordered either.....but still get the game same day.....besides GTA4...but i think its gone be hard to find MW2 anywhere.....game is gonna be epic man
From what I understand a pre-order doesn't even guarantee you a copy on release day. Not at Gamestop anyways. Go figure.
actually I don;t think that is true, I think it just guarantees you will get one. I have gone to gamestop after pre-ordering a game and they have been out.
Nah apparently not. If they sellout or don't get enough allocated copies you don't get anything. If another store has it like WalMart you'd settle for store credit at Gamestop. I think thats how it works. Pretty cruel ain't it.
If youre getting the game on release day, I dont see the point of not preordering. Your 5 bucks goes towards the purchase of the game, so there really is no downside to pre-ordering.
I actually got off the phone with them a few minutes ago. They do not sell reserved copies until two days has passed before you have claimed your game.
Minimum deposit is 5 dollars. And you can keep paying whatever down on it until release date where you pay the balance and get your game. No cost to preorder, which I don't understand why anybody who plans on getting the game would not do.
I think it has to do with the financials of the matter. Why give Gamestop your $5 that they can hold on to, put in a bank and earn interest on, when you can just pick it up on the day it comes out and hold on to your $5. $5 isn't a lot, but it adds up if they take 50,000 pre-orders. But if you get something for it (demo, skins, etc...) then it might be worth it
I understand this. Problem is Modern Warfare 2 is probably one of the most hyped games ever. Do you know how much people are tired of playing COD 4 because Trey Arch sucked hard on COD5? I won't take my chances.
Haha, I can guarantee you most gamers are not thinking of the opportunity cost of putting $5 down to reserve the game. This is actually my first game I have ever reserved, and I only did so because of the magnitude of the release.
The game wont sellout guys. They want their money, they'll print enough. Its not like producing the Wii or something.
