    wow, thank you all for your great recommendations. After tallying all of the posts and doing some research on the music mentioned, I am most interested in PJ Harvey-"Stories from the City..."

    That seems like something new and different than what I've been listening to.
    So, thanks again, please keep them coming... I actually created an Excel spreadsheet to see which albums were mentioned the most. That's helped pass the time this Saturday at work. :cool:

    Some good stuff's already been listed here, but I have to include Jellyfish, who were a great band ahead of their time. Their two albums (Bellybutton in 1990 and Spilt Milk in 1993) are staples on my iPod.

    A lot of their members went on to do good stuff. Imperial Drag, Jason Falkner, and Roger Joseph Manning Jr. have all done some pretty good work over the past 15 years.
